I have a NP glide surf with 70 cm mast. I'd like to get a longer mast. When the wind picks up and it gets choppy the short mast length catches me out. The next best option is 80cm. But I want a bit more. Only thing that NP doesn't offer more sizes than 70 and 80. There was the 85 cm NP flight AL mast but comes with deep tuttle (glued).

Has anyone found masts from other brands that fit the NP glide surf fuselage? The project cedrus could be a solution but as I am based in Europe it becomes expensive with shipping and tax.

I hear your pain with Neilpryde. I was lucky to finally find a private seller for an 80 cm mast. Just couldnt get one from a shop.
Surely it cannot be that hard for a company to make & sell something so simple at a longer length.

I waited patiently for the new HP wings (KD Maui designed). Got the HP17 and they are just great. So agrees Tucker Vantol too, and Jason P.

There's a company 'over the border' (AGM, no affiliation whatsoever)) from where I am based that makes them, but uses 7075 (OEM) which is stronger, but which (I understand) corrodes more easily than 6061. I got them to make me an 85 or 90cm and even a 60cm one (for when my wife was learning), not sure if they are still doing these. They seem to be making OEM Twin US Box Adapter plates for the Glide Series Foil Masts though (www.barvan-int.com/products/detail/62754/1_ as well as an OEM "XL" Foil that fits (www.barvan-int.com/products/detail/65469/1).

The 85 cm NP flight AL mast might work but I was hoping to find a (LONG) CARBON version that is compatible, does anyone know if the RS Flight Works? Any other compatible mast that fits the Glide Series Fuselages, that has cropped up recently? I am loathe to get the Glide Surf it is just too short for chop.

For 2022 NP Glide masts are sized differently than previous years. 75cm and 85cm are the new sizes, and they will also be plugged to prevent water intrusion. I have a 2020 Glide Wind mast that is 82cm and a 2021 Glide Wind mast that is 80cm, so they have been all over the place. The 2022 carbon mast is also 85cm. Not sure when these bits will be available for purchase, but you can see them all on www.Neilpryde.com

Thanks FoilColorado interesting stuff ... and a wee bit worrying at the same time. I would really like the 85cm Carbon mast but then you have to get the new fuselage that it fits into as the connection is V-Shaped for a "tight fit" (they say). Then they also talk about "Volume and weight of the aluminium used in the fuselage is reduced by eliminating the forward protruding nose..." sooo.... does this mean the Yellow Glide HP foils are slightly different too, to fit that new black fuselage? i.e. did they change everything just enough to make you buy ... everything again?

Finally, the Carbon Mast is only found on the Glide SURF page ... it never says specifically that it is for the Glide WIND.. which just says ALU masts ... I'm guessing the Carbon Foil mast will be OK for my wife, who is light and uses small foils on a Freefoil Board, but I am loathe to change foils again. ... I went from the Fat Blue Glides to the Red HP ones (and they are better) but found the Blue Fuses which I kept, does not fit the Glide HP...it is slightly skinner between the 1st and 2nd screws... if you sand the fuse down it corrodes something terrible ...

Finally..if the Fuse is ONLY a Glide SURF ... it will be too short for a Glide WIND....so then the mast is useless for Windfoiling... if you want to do that as well as Winging :-).
