Looking for recommendations on a board that is sub 5' but over 75 liters.

The only two that I know of are Takoon Comet SW and the JP X Winger, but I don't know anyone who has tried either of these boards.

I had the same problem finding a board that had enough volume to get on your knees and dog in when the wind dropped.
Also had the feel more like my prone board without the hassle of a sinker start.
So Harro and I made our own full carbon vacuum bag EPS boards.
4'7" x 27" x 4.5" around 80 liters.
Plus we were able to use the latest hard rail design, and not wait a year for production boards to come out with them.
And for the record it goes unreal

I haven't tried one of these Harro boards (yet), but have been using a 1000 HA foil made for me by Harro from paulownia for about 9 months. I really like it for both wingding and surfing. So I'm sure his boards will go unreal as well.

I'm currently riding a 4'11" @ 90 litres Amos, which is also great.

Can I clarify that "hard rails" means no chimes ? Excuse my ignorance

It goes great. Very stiff and loose feels like my 4'6" 37 liter prone board, which is what I wanted.
Not a big difference, which makes it easier swapping between winging and proning.
Yep no chimes and flat for 3/4 of the board.

Also saw the Turtle Wing Boards from italy, which look quite nice and fit my desired dimension specs as well.

Hopefully as we grow and get more either Retailers or US-based importers we can help get the pricing just right in the US. Right now most of the boards go in through our Importer in Canada which of course would add an extra cost to the US or we just send direct which has its own costs. Always looking and working for better ways and hopefully, we will have that perfect solution soon!

Construction-wise we make these in the Kinetic factory and only in Full PVC sandwich constructions so weight and strength are pretty good.

I have the 5.0 JP X winger in the carbon version. I'm 90 kg and the board has 95 ltr. Very nice, light and responsive board but initially getting started in the waves and shore brake was a challenge. Now I'm used to it and it's a blast. Especially wave riding is great because of the low swing weight. The board is quite wide but not a problem in turns. I love the shape of the rails, bottom and tail. Not to fancy, but it pumps on foil quickly. I can't recommend it for low wind, because starting on it in low wind conditions is a challenge. I can drift on it but without wind, balancing on it is a challenge. with 90 kg I haven't tried the smaller JP.

Have you tried other boards of similar length? Curious as to whether your difficulties are a matter of length or hull shape.

I'm using axis, and not really troubles, more getting used to. After one session i was dialed in but still in low wind, it's a challenge for me to get back through choppy water. I think the length is the challenging factor here.
I tried a 90 ltr Smik and a 100 ltr gong (mint I think). The Smik is longer and was easy but the gong was more corky and I didn't like it. Also to wide for its length. I really like the JP but the same volume in a 5.5 could be a one board quiver for me. Now, I hold on to my 6.6 gong Zuma for light wind and sup foiling.

Hopefully soon Jacko. Am sick of checking the front door for any little noise??. Wind looking pretty good for second half of the week. I feel like a kid before Christmas morning.

Right with you Macca....I ordered mine last week as well. Got the 5'8 version. Hopefully it will arrive sometime this week.

I was out today on my 5'4" One wing board.
Nice cold stormy swan river session, winds gusting between 13 to 27 knots on the local wind readings.

I really like the board, haven't had quite enough time on it to do a full review. Also its the only wing board I have tried so can't make comparisons. Its a nice clean simple design. I can get it to plane fairly well and feels nice up in the air with low swing weight. I have the PVC version I haven't weighed it but it feels nice and light.

I have been using their 6'5" sup for over a year and the construction is very good, quality build and durability.

Got One 5'0 90 litre PVC wing board. Weight is 6.3 kg. I weigh 76-78kg and consider myself a beginner/intermediate.. Still working on foil gybes so more beginner than intermediate.

I love this board. It's good in all conditions, light wind to overpowered... Good for paddling home when the wind totally shuts down too :)...Highly recommend it. I don't think I will need another board for a while. Maybe a 35-40l prone foil board for really big days when I get better.
