I am using a harness and am wondering what wing leashes are best. So far I used a wrist leash, but when I switched to the Duotone Float Wing with Boom i realised that the wrist leash gets much more often tangled between my fingers and the boom (which is annoying). Then I tried a waist leash and this does not happen at all - but the waist leash (Ozone) does not do well with the harness (Mystic Majestic X) as it tangles up with the harness hook much easier 1) any recommendations for wing leashes that work well with a wing that has a boom?

2) what length of the leash do you use. the Ozone waist leash I tested es really long and wonder if this is part of the problem.

3) coiled or straight leash

4) would you attach board and wing to the harness? (Felt I rely to much on one single point if failure to attach everything - especially in waves)

Just make one and attach to your harness, and board to your calf. Never gets tangled.

My preferred setup is coiled board leash to ankle. wing leash to a slider line across the back of my harness. I use the pks attachment ball stopper thing which stays on the slider line on the back of my harness. Some harnesses have a slider line, but if they don't, most harness lines have the ability to attach a piece of cord as a slider line. Wing leash to the slider line keeps it out of the way of my harness line (if I'm using one) and also allows for easy behind the back maneuvers. Make sure that your wing leash is long enough to wrap you in the event you don't pre-wrap on a tack.

My favorite wing leashes are the Ozone ones. They are strong, long enough, and the internal bungee generally holds up pretty well. Ive snapped the internal bungees on hard workings, but the line won't ever break.

Sounds like you have a unique problem that maybe I don't understand. You are having issues with the leash getting around the boom as well as getting caught on your hook? Shorter leashes help with not throwing loops of leash all over the place. Your attachment point will keep it away from the hook.

For your other questions:

Not me, but I know of another incident where this happened. It's definitely a risk to be considered
