Whats your background and where will you wing? Waves? What foil? Gofoil and Axis tend to be towards the back of the board whereas Lift or Armstrong are further forward and you will find some boards won't have adequate adjustment for one or the other.
When starting out 130 litres might make it easier for you but after a few months you will likely want something smaller. That said some people like riding a big board guess it depends on your style.
To your point long/narrow=easier to take off in marginal conditions. Short / wide might help you tighten up your turns a bit.
I have an Amos Peregrine, super happy with it, but this is not necessarily the best to learn on.
Whatever you do, get one with a handle in the bottom if you can, makes it heaps easier to carry.
Very interesting for foil positions, I had my eye on an Armstrong HA series so good to know with box position.
I managed to try a few different boards, tried a Starboard Wingboard the other day and I think that was about 90-100L or so. Tough but I think it'll be good to progress with. Im wondering if I should go longer/narrower as the Wingboard is more short/fat (felt good but wanted to see what everyone else thinks)
I'll be mainly foiling in flat water or theres a couple river mouths nearby I could foil at, there are some locals out there most days. otherwise 70% foiling in flat for me!
What dimensions is your Amos? Would you want it skinnier you think?
