It never ceases to amaze me how many brands have jumped on the wind wing band wagon. I've listed the following 31 brands vying for your hard earned cash:

So when the market settles and the hype dies down, which of these brands will survive? Surely the market isn't big enough to support all of them, and yet on another post we see brands still joining at this late stage - Ezzy.

There are the same amount of brands for windsurfing sails. I think (at this moment) there is a better market for wing then for windsurf. Time will tell.

There's way more brands than that. I'd say at least 15 more like gaastra kt unifibre dynamo blue planet and others

Yeah that 30 brands isn't too many at all, there's heaps more than that and I think it's understandable that they all have a crack at the wingfoiling market. It's a popular new market with high value sales. It's also drawing dollars away from other markets especially windsurfing and kitesurfing. Natural that many will jump on the bandwagon. Not all will survive but that's business.

The next big bandwagon will be the electric assist market. We're only just seeing the start of that now...

The biggest players with the best distribution networks and dealer support will survive and the others probably won't once the rush is over, unfortunately that is the way the world works these days.

Yeah, I would say way more than 30 brands out there now and more are coming every day.
Who will survive? always hard to say as so many factors go into each and every brand.
Usually, the big guys will survive just because of the distribution setup they may have and the numbers they can do plus many of them are backed by bigger outside partners.
The smaller players is a lot of the time about controlling overheads and keeping them LOW. We are on the list of brands and for us we run a low overhead business and also in Aus we run mostly direct sales these days, we don't need to sell boards and foils every day to keep the business going and we run the whole business with just myself and Angie who do pretty much everything. For us, this has worked for over 14 or 15 years. We have always found spending more on making the product and not always looking to make things cheaper pays off long term as well but not having the reach or budgets of the big brands always hurts the smaller brands as it's a numbers game at the end of the day. If Exporting then good importers are key but very hard to come by as that is a hard game in itself!!

We saw it with SUP and how many brands exploded onto the scene(not many left) and now the same with foiling which for sure will go the same way in some ways if not steered in the right direction by the right people.

We have seen many come and go and there are usually good signs of someone who might not last as long.

I think they will last because they are small and don't overextend themselves. Very small batch wing and foil builds.
The companies constantly having massive sales and dumping merchandise, those are the ones I expect to die. Massive overproduction is never a good sign.

So many and yet so few who make a product that doesn't blow out the minute you show it a 20knt forecast.

And i dont know why anyone would buy a wing from a company that has not made kite or windsurf gear for decades.

Unfortunately too many startup mobs find it easy to get any old crap sewn up in china and it looks same as other wings, and the beginner buys it.

At least now they're finally getting their track installs sorted and a lot more sandwich boards being made. As long term WS, kite board etc builder, i was appalled at some of the dodgy manufacturing in the last few years

True, but it also never ceases to amaze me how preoccupied and obsessed existing wing foilers have become constantly chasing after newer, better gear every ten minutes. Threads on this forum are completely dominated by new gear talk as opposed to skill improvement. Older existing participants with way more money in their pockets help feed the supplier frenzy. Always intrigued by the wingers I run into with a large quiver of the very newest most expensive gear and barely past the stage of consistent jibes. If it makes them happy then all good,.... far worse ways to spend your money
