Need some thoughts from seabreeze brains trust on next board... I have a 27L 4ft prone and a 70L 4'7 x 24 (light sinker for me at 80kg). Fun rides but I am suffering a bit in non-optimal conditions and light wind.

Primarily downwinding in surf with a bit of goofing around in flat water if there is no waves. I assume something in a DW shape but not sure what to go with and where to land on dimensions wise. 3.5m/5m wing and Armstrong HA880/HA580 and I lean towards riding smaller wing and foil when I can.

KT or armstong mid length, get up really quickly so you can ride similar volume but get going in lighter winds, or with smaller wings and foils.

If you're in Oz, I highly recommend looking at the Amos range. The bullet/sultan/sultan wing would be great options.

So something like the 6'1" mid-length? I'm psychologically struggling with the longer boards bur don't want to undercook in volume as I can get going in next to nothing with a good pump if the board isn't underwater!

will have a look at Kt's haven't seen many around Perth

5'10 x 85 sultan looks the absolute goods. But then I wonder if I should go larger and get something i can sup foil with. Aaargh decisions!

It's a big jump or compromise, you want - 10-15l for a winging mid length and plus 20l for a SUP. Another way to think about it is that if you go for a 70L 5'10", you will probably replace your old wing board and that's a size that is also very usable for prone. I'm going to Maui in February and since it's primarily a family trip, I am planning to bring my 6'0" x 19.5" ML and Para Wings so I can prone, DW or play around at Kaa all on the same board.

Make sure you know the minimum width you can deal with, width at the back foot is super important and if it's too narrow you will feel like you are stepping off the board during foot switches etc.

What about something like the 5'10 Egg www.oneoceansportsaustralia.com/shop/p/the-egg
They get up super easy, I used to use this as my DW board for a long time and they get up in the bumps really nice, they are super good at Sup foiling in the waves and make a fun wing board and FD board. 5'10 has strap inserts now as well. Very light and super strong. I am 80kg by the way.

+1 for the Egg 5'10. Sup-foiling and ultra light wind winging mine in the surf, not many better boards out there in that range

thanks good info. I'm in no-man's land at the moment t as I don't sup or prone foil, I am confident I will go ok at it *with the right gear*, solid SUP surfing background plus plenty of years foiling and surfing- but don't have the funds to invest in another board (and probably foil) to get into it and get good enough to get on stuff that works as a crossover with the light wind wing gear.

I'm riding the 92lt KT for my light wind setup winging, 90kg naked ! have a 70L custom sinker for the high wind days.
The KT gets up so fast that I am downsizing from a 1000 area foil to an 800
