My 6m Naish is my favorite wing .. It has lots of grunt and a pretty good wind range.

Try and demo or try others before buying.

New Naish S26 in store now and on demo in 6m. Haven't had time to try myself but hopefully this week.

I think you'll find any of the gen 2 wings and some of the gen 1 wings will work for you.
Find out what's available from your local area retailers and support them.

Think light. First, it's big so heavy anyway. Second, you're not going to use it in heavy winds so go light. Third, you might end up holding it more if you are testing the low end of the range.

Of all the 6m wings I have tried the Smik felt the best - super light, narrow wingspan, smallish leading edge. Until I tried it I never entertained buying a 6m (5'2 is my biggest) but I would definitely buy one of these. There are some negatives - wingtip reinforcing non existent, centre strut stitching destroys knuckles, too many handles.

If you are a heavyweight then I can recommend Ensis and PPC, they are both very powerful wings for their size, especially for me at 70kgs.

6.4 Slingwing is amazing. Feels small and light and has such a huge range 8 - 20 knots is easy.
The short wingspan concept really works for me.
For my 1.92m, 92 kg body it's the go to size on almost all days ate our gusty lake.
My 4.4 Slingwing only comes out when windsurfing works with 5.3 and smaller

I love the Slingwing V2 6.4 as well! I'm 75kg and this is my most used wing. It is so forgiving and handles so well for such a large wing. Only thing that is not great are the handles are a little small, especially when wearing gloves. I'm starting to see clearout pricing on the Slingwing V2 so you should be able to find a deal.

100% 6.4m V2 Slingshot. Have tried others but it's low end is awesome, small wingspan and is v. light. Use it 8 to 15 knots then my awesome little 4m Takoon takes over..

I own the 6.4 m2 slingwing, and use it a lot for lite wind conditions. It's been a good wing. My only complaint is the reach from the front handle to the back one is a little wide for my arm span. I realize slingshot was trying to keep weigh down, but it would be nice if there were one additional handle. Overall, it has a lot of power to get my 90 kgs off the water.

Thank you for all the reply's and time put in

To many choices, not enough money ??

We have no real outlets here selling foil gear,so very difficult to try.

Thats the reason I seek advice on Seabreeze, read what other people say then try and make an informed decision.

Hi Fitzsup. If you live near Wollongong. Unhooked watersports could help you. They are at Warrawong. They sell & teach kiting etc as far as I know. Check their website.

Heaps of good wings now on the market but in the bigger sizes I have felt some good and some pretty average. I won't say what ones are what as we have our own wings arriving this week finally so can be called one sided if someone does not like me saying something bad about a wing they ride. I will say on the bigger wings the two things I look at is how heavy it is to fly as some are super heavy on the arms and making sure the wing tips don't grab the water which with the bigger wings and lighter winds becomes more of a problem.

Price wise some of the new wings prices are stupid so recommend looking around.

any experience with the starboard freewing at 6m ?

Hey Felix,

I really like my 6m Freewing and is a lot of fun to fly, I still can't get over how much power it has while still not feeling too heavy.

The build quality and reinforcing is about the best I have seen when comparing them to the other wings on the beach.

SMIK 6m is an amazing wing. Floats well and has a massive range, exceptionally light. PPC is good if you want build quality, power and upwind ability. Lots of good wings out there, demo if you can.

So you already winging. I guess you want a 6 to have more speed in light wind for transition etc, I'll do the same soon. What I can say is just don't pick a random brand, check what you have and make a choice that will give you what you want as a step-up size. I've measured a few 6.0 one over the other...some 6 has at least 0.5 and more than other 6.0, meaning, depending of your 5.0 wing...and the next 6 you will purchase, you can have not much of a gain...or a big gain! ;-)

I agree w the above. We put a 5.2 Ensis over the 5.0 Swing, 5.0 Strike and a 6.0 Cabrinha.
Someone's math is off .5+ sq mt's and it wasn't because of different aspect ratios. I recommend watching the Supboard Mag review, they did a great job. Obviously if you're like me, I want my 6.0 to be a powerhouse.

I tossed up between the Cabrinha X2, the slingshot and the new Naish S26 mk3

Spoke to Ben at Ocean Addicts (good salesman)brought the new Naish

Bold call, good call, dumb call ,who knows, time will tell.

I've brought gear from Ocean Addicts before sight unseen, they've never put me a bum steer yet.

Good service ,good price.

good call, as the Cabrinha have issues with their solid handle.
