I changed from my 25-year-old gath hard-shell to the DMC soft helmet for less whiplash. It works - thanks for the tip Tommy C!

Same experience for me moving from a WIP hardshell to Soft surf helmet v2. My issue was headaches from crashes like missing gybes etc.

Yeah same for me, headaches and even seeing stars after big wipeouts

Good Video, nice riding, good tune.
in the video, are you riding a High Aspect or more 'carving' Lower Aspect foil? thanks.

Thanks for the kind words about the video! It's hard to tell but it was way too windy to ride properly, Ed was overpowered with a 4m and I had a 5 so it was just survival mode...I was riding an Axis 1050 high aspect with 400 progressive tail wing
My brother was on an Art 1099, he reckons they are great for the glide

Fantastic, not a place that is featured often in videos. Inspiring stuff.

agreed on the whiplash and concussion reports above ... on the bigger surf days, with more speed and catastrophic uncontrolled wipeouts, some major bell ringing with the gath. I'm using a decathlon rugby scrum cap ... not quite as bomber as that DMC, but close enough. Also not as strong coverage as the gath, but it takes the edge off a bonk.

Being a safety nerd, I like that neon green high viz ... as if something goes wrong, my black helmet and black wetsuit isn't going to help with recovery, especially in our dim lit grey on grey winter days.
