Has anyone tried both to compare?

first Dlab yes, but not the 2023 or stuff that was just released.The Dlab feels lighter and more playfull/surfy, the mode faster, more locked and better upwind.

Tried both new Mode Pro and 2024 DLab and your description still holds imo. I was pleasantly surprised by the new Dlab after my disappointing experience with the 2022. I would still go for the Ozone Flux though.

What makes you choose the Flux? I can get the Mode for 1000$ and the Dlab for 1500$. Think the Flux is 1500$ too, so I'm leaning Mode.

The Flux incorporates the best of the Unit/Mode in one wing. It's light, surfy, super fast and fantastic upwind. Great range especially on the high-end and it's really well made. I was about to add a smaller size Ocean Rodeo AA to my quiver but the Flux changed my mind.

The Flux seems to come in non traditional sizes. Would you say the 5.7m is more like a 5.5m wing or 6m when comparing to other wings?

I don,t have a 5.7, but do own the Flux in 5.0 and 4.3. The low end is imo pretty good/ comparable with the more powerfull wings like the Unit and Cab Mantis 3, but as Burchas written: the high end is phenomenal. I can use my 4.3 comfortable in silly winds where guys of my weight are on 3m wings (and I have a 3m wing as well)It surfs imo better as the Unit Dlab 2022 I have+ the Unit 2023 5m I tried. I,m not really into speed but it reaches angles upwind that I can,t get out of other wings, incl Cab Mantis V3, Unit, Ensis, Novas V3. Not sure how it holds up to the Mode, but that one loses a LOT in the surf and maneuvres.

I have 2023 Dlab unit 3.5m and 2023 mode 7m. I just added a Flux 3m, it is an amazing wing. Plus 1 for flux.

Flux 5.7 + 4.3 could be my 2 wing quiver next year

I have both the Mod 2023 and the new 2024 Mod Pro. The Mod Pro is a nice step up -- the canopy material is top notch. I haven't tried the flux but from everything I've read it's a good one. Personally I not going to buy another wing unless it has one of the new canopy materials -- should be better for long term durability (less bagging) and resale.

The new fabrics are meant to be water resistant meaning you have less of a wet wing to deal with at the end of session. How does the Flux go with regards to absorbing water?

One of the nicest things about North wings is the long forward strut handle. It makes it very easy to ride small waves holding the wing semi powered with one hand. The new Unit will have the long handle as well. Can you fly the Flux one-handed with some power on the forward handle?

The Flux strut handles are short at the front and long at the back. The implication is that you park your front hand and trim with movements of the rear hand. All the wings I have used work the other way round with the biggest trim effect happening by moving the front hand back. How does that go with the Flux in terms of the feel and and the trimming effect?

There's also a lot of talk about the forward flying aspect of the Flux. It may be that the wing simply works better with back hand trimming.

I have a Flux 5.7 + 4.3 quiver and had both wings out just yesterday in a huge windspeed range, starting underpowered 5.7 to overpowered 4.3 at the end of the day. These two sizes easily cover my windrange since they have such an amazing topend and seem to "eat gusts" staying calm where other wings like the Unit 23 or Mantis 2 i could also try so far just start too get nervous.
Despite the topend the Flux also has an amazing lowend since it has a little flex which feels like its loading up the wing when pumped.
To me it feels much like my beloved Goya Banzai wavesails in this respect.
Regarding handles it allows to use the front handle like a pistol grip on an wave but i prefer to use the surf handle since it stays quite neutral when flying flagged, no comparison the my former WASP V2 which liked to flip around.
You still have room to move your hand on the front handle, so for me it's front hand on the back for max power, middle in the comfort windrange and all to the front in overpowered condition. It's not just one position you can place your front hand on the handle.
