I recently replaced a 2022 unit quiver(standard 3-4-5/dlab 6), with all new dlabs. I felt my previous 6 had a larger range, and I'm on a takoon ultra glide mini dw wing board so I stretched out each size with the new quiver: 3.5/4.5/6. So far mostly on the 6, which amazingly I felt was a bit floppy, or at least a delayed bounce one has to adapt to. Yesterday went out in some kind of choppy conditions but felt confident the 4.5 would be enough(meter was saying 14-22 I think). Turns out it wasn't, got up once, then hit seaweed I never saw, but otherwise couldn't make it happen.

I remember when I got that 2022 6m dlab that it seemed to want a sort of back hand flapping pump, and I was feeling the same yesterday with the 4.5. But what with trying to launch on waves and figure out the timing of the floppy bounce pump I couldn't put the power down effectively.

Questions are: Anyone find this familiar? Anyone find over inflating helps stiffen them up for more direct pump?

Sounds like you not be pumped them up enough. Pump as hard as can pretty much if using a normal Duotone pump. 24 Unit has more range than the 22 for sure.

I've been believing the gauge, but yeah maybe it's off. It's weird to feel an alula wing is floppy.

I don't know anything about dlabs, but i did compare a standard Handpump to my airbank puffer pro recently and I kid you not the Handpump was off by 1 psi - so my Handpump showed 8 psi and on the puffer pro it showed 7. Of course I do not know if the puffer pro is even accurate, but I trust an electronic gauge with constant pressure more.

I have Slick SLS wings and have been pumping them 0.5 PSI more. I just got a 2023 Aluula slick. I pumped it to spec ("Aluula is already stiff!"). There was still a bit of a crease on the leading edge. I thought that's how they're meant to be. I was kind of underwhelmed on the water ("this is what I spent the $$ on?"). Next time I went out, I pumped 0.5 PSI more and the wing was transformed.

Simple answer is that 99% of gauges aren't accurate, so the ping and feel test is best.

A few of us with the new DLabs, getting a similar feeling to what you describe, it's a very different wing to the previous versions, feels heavy when powered, the pull is very different, the pump is very different, I'm sure there are some who love it, but there's a few as new on the second hand market here. I would recommend anyone updating from the previous models to demo first!

I have the 4m 2024 and no issues, I also have 5.5 and 6.5 2023 .

I don't think the difference is so great in the small sizes, but it is substantially different in the larger sizes, I have the 2023 4, 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5, we also have the 2024 in 5.5 and 6.5, I no longer use the 2024.
