just managed to get the kit together to learn wing foiling.
just wondering what u guys do to to make life easier, set up, pack down, attach/strip/store foil.
All those things that would benefit a complete novice. I've been addicted to watching the vids, now it's time to give it ago

Marine grease on all the screws (I have an aluminium Axis setup).
$50 electric screwdriver!
$30 Torx wrench set.
Don't rinse the wings in fresh water after use.
Don't hang them up to dry ( the bladders can move out of position and pop next time that you're at the beach).
Snug-tighten the slider fasteners in the mast tracks so that they're always with the board.

Once I had my click day and consistently got on-foil I was amazed to find that it really was just as cool as it looked in the videos

Keep a "bug-out" bag on hand containing all your foil tools, action cam, energy bars, waterproof phone bag, sunscreen, GPS ,spare parts and anything else you want with you so you don't have to worry about getting to the beach only to find out you're missing that one torx wrench or whatever else you need.

Leave everything in car ready to go. Helps having an Armstrong foil so no grease or washing needed.

what do u tongue bolts up to? Gentle nip or tight as tight?

I use an electric pump to inflate my wing, and keep my board and foil fully assembled in my van. Most time consuming part of rigging up is getting my wetsuit on.

Nah. Landcruiser so it fitted easy. 1550 v2 and 1125 might be difficult might need a van too

We run two set ups for my son and I. Cannot fit setup in car. Used to loosely tighten the T nuts but found it would/could damage the track.
so we keep the foils assembled in the back seat of the triton with covers on and the T nuts in that bag someone mentioned. Also use an electric screwdriver. I've actually lost a T nut once not doing it up tight enough.

I pull the boards out the back tray and son pulls out the assembled foils and we find that after he has put on his wetty then I've got mine assembled he then uses the drill for his and i wettty up.
So it essentially takes the time of putting one wetsuit on. You get quick at it.

Sometimes if doing multiple sessions in a day we roof rack them fully assembled. Infact we have driven all the way to margs and back with them full assembled on the roof but it is nerve racking. Especially when you forget and nearly go into a drive through !!

A lot depends on the foil brand. I have Armstrong and Starboard. Here are some hacks I've found.

I keep the mounting screws in the track on the board. Cut up some pipe insulation and jam in to middle of the track to keep the screws from falling out.

Get a ratcheting screw driver. These multiply your twisting 2x-6x. Works better than electric, because no need to make sure they're charged.

Get some Torx 30 bits if that's what your foil uses. Use a small fishing tackle organizer for all the extra screws and bits.

If you don't have space to transport a rigged up board and foil. Remove the foil from the board, take off only the front wing, it should fit in most cars after that.
