Designers say front wing and stab are matched when front foot pressure doesn't change with speed.
If it does increase is it better to shim a stab or get another (smaller?) one?

Cheaper to shim.
Imho a smaller one will be faster/more glidey than a heavily shimmed bigger one.

There is probably some overlap, and a bigger stab might pump better.

But eventually you are going to have to test what works for you...like i said first shimming is dirt cheap.

I can't speak for any other brands, but shimming the stabilizer is very effective for controlling over-lift on a Slingshot i76 front wing. Factory setting on the stabilizer has a lot of downforce-- more than -3 degrees.

Smaller stab if you want better turning and less stability as well as reducing front foot pressure..shim if you want same feel in turn and pump but only less front foot pressure.
