Had a fang on this 6 x 22 x 106l pwing proto this week. Very very impressed ordered one straight away. Has the stability and ease of start like my 7 10 x 19 x 110l DW board but turns like my 5 10 x 20 x 85l wing board when on a runner. In a smaller size would be an epic wing board.

It feels really good to have a kick in front of your front foot and behind your back foot. Locks you in when pumping or turning.

I saw Scottie testing today and he was ripping. Wing looks stable in tough conditions. Keep to try when it comes out.

Any Idea when the new board will be available and the price point? Looks great.

Hey hilly definitely liking the look of this board. Are you saying it gets up on foil as easily as your much longer downwind board? How does it achieve that? Is it a very flat rocker or bottom shape with really good planing and release? 22" is fairly wide to be a really efficient board.
Really liking the sunken deck. It would put you closer to the foil and the kick in the deck would give it a good tactile feel. Ken adgates episode on the foil rat podcast he talks about using this design in his custom boards. Also if you check out his instagram he posts alot of his custom boards on there and they look amazing. I think for the riding most of us want to do which isn't flips and freestyle but more carving and surfing this is the best design.

There is something going on there to get up so well. Took me a while to get the knack. Really stable so you can get the board in exactly the right place, and you can push with your front foot against the front kick. Flat rocker under your feet and the back hump behind your foot pushes you forward. The 7 10 is slightly quicker to get up on foil but you are battling more weight, length when you get up. The longer DW board doesn't fit into the short period bumps as well as a shorter board. I was worried about the width, but it was not an issue, made going from knees to feet a breeze.

Ive recently picked up the 99l x 22 x 6'3 - its the Breeze but with a few slight changes probably similar to the above. Loving it so far, my first midlength. Stability and taxi speed is obviously far better than the Skywing (85l) I've got. I went back to try the Skywing the other day and didnt like it at all, i felt the Stokr actually pumps and turns better to be honest, but it does feel bigger under foot. I ride in the bay, wind bumps. Looking to start parawing this season.

My only complaint would be the deck pad doesnt seem to be super resilient and it is really cutting my toes up - so I need booties, not a deal breaker. Also, a grab handle would have been good, just makes things easier on and off the water.

Yeah it looks nice, what would you say the key differences were? KP told me my shape was a bit more stable with no performance difference from the original Breeze...

Dam i wish I could demo some of these boards up in QLD but i dont think there is a dealer here....

I wouldn't worry about your board for PWing. I've got the 6' x 19.5 x85L version of your board. I'm 84kg. I took my Ozone PR out for the first time last week and managed to get to my feet within the first 5min. I thought I would struggle with this on a narrow board but it was fine.
That said, this new board looks great and I want one.

Hey Hilly ,new Smik board looks the goods.Scottie has come up with great midlength dimensions,early lift off bottom & rail shape.Particularly impressive with your feedback regarding recessed deck stance area.I have been winging my AFS Whitebird 6'8"x 23" 115Ltr @ 95kgs for 12mths with the recessed deck and absolutely love the feel of your toes or heel feeling more secure.
I jump on a flat deck board not having the same secure stance feel.Big plus having the heal of your back foot supported against the recess with Scottie's design.

Really cool design! I can't help but wish they'd gone a bit longer and narrower with their sizes though. Yes I'm sure they are very efficient but if they were a bit longer and narrower they would be even more efficient.

Well I'm glad you asked, I actually have a custom 7'4x22" Jack on order from Smik. It's primary use is as a surf sup foil but also want it for light wind parawing or wing, downwind paddle ups which I don't do much now I parawing, boat wake catching and a one board quiver to take on holidays now Ive got a baby boy and can't stuff the whole car with boards anymore. Basically just a do everything board. Will update the forum when it arrives.

The shorter length and slightly thinner profile, due to a touch of extra width, give the board a lively, responsive feel when up on foil-especially when riding a swell. Turning feels far smoother and more precise compared to longer, thicker boards.

Got to be honest it will probably be too expensive to get one to Scotland but worth asking as it looks great.

About the size, I am 93kg and think the 106l would be the one for PW and winging in the variable conditions we have here on the East coast. Do you think the 106 volume will be OK or should I maybe look to the smaller one?

The full PVC Carbon sounds pretty bomproof and just what I am looking for, how is yours holding up?

The Armie ML 100l is also in contention but I want something a bit shorter, do you think the low end will be close between the two?

I am your weight and it is a great size for gusty winds. If you live somewhere with really consistent wind then you could go smaller.

damn,! i can't get ANYONE at Smik to reply to me about north American distributors... not even a "not a chance mate forget about it!" type of reply..

There's been a couple requests from the US and pretty sure I'd answered all.
basically with answer being we have no distribution in the US
we can fed ex but it's a bit expensive

Thanks for the tip, I will wait and see what the UK agent comes back with. Since the stupid episode of national self harm that was Brexit getting anything to the UK seems to be a nightmare.
The board looks really good, design and construction so its worth looking into.
