There's not much information on these foils and I wonder why?
Recently added the PTM 926 to my quiver and it has been my go to, going down from a low aspect 1600 foil.
It's better in every way than my 1600 (and other wings/brands I tried) and progressed my upwind game quite a bit.
Maybe it's just me but I can't pump it to get up on a foil, more hand wing pump action, that's about the only thing I miss.

I was looking at the ART999 and RS1150 as potential purchases but heard the PTM 1001 was overall better than both?

Any Phantasm stories here?

Thanks Grant. Yes, I have seen this. The 1001 looks sick & slick.

The person I talked to have early access to all mentioned foils and really had high praises for the 1001. Said it had similar efficiency/glide as the ART999 and RS1150 but was able to bank much harder turns on the 1001 because it allows better breaches than both. That said, his daily driver is the GF GT 1250 as he was not into HA wings for the most part.

As far as pumping the 926 onto a foil, I found that trying to pump it like I do easily on my gofoil or my other larger foils only stalls it, instead, at the point I feel the momentum builds 3 very short & aggressive pumps of the hand wing does the job, only at this point when I have a little more speed and if there's a need, I feel the foil has a positive response to pumps, does that make sense?

I run it all the way to the back of the tracks at 15 inches from the tail on my 6'3" barge as I found it to work best on my custom board.
When I tested it on a friends board 6' with tracks a little more to the back than mine at 11 inches from the tail, it came up onto a foil easier.
Not sure what to make of it?

I have a SS wingcraft board in now, but we are stuck in a no wind holding pattern and I cannot get out to test the 926 with the wingcraft and the tracks are further back so that should help with the light wind pumping.

I'll report back whenever the wind and or the 1001 appears.

would also like to get a comparison as far as popping up on lighter wind difference between the 926 and 1001.

The board I tested my 926 was the WingCraft 6' and it seemed to pop up much easier, the only problem I had with this
board is the exit holes are on the back so I could not push the foil all the way as I wanted to really test the theory.

I have a new 5'2" board coming soon with tracks 6.5" from the tail which is a straight tail with a Kalama E3 rail line (pin tail bottom step).
My feeling was that the tail is what stalls the foil when pumping so this new board will be a good indicator if that's the case.

Just got back from a session. My friend bought the 2021 Cabrinha Macro Foilboard 5' x 25" @ 78 L.
The tracks are very close tho the tail so I gave him the PTM 926 to put on the board and took it for a ride.

As I hoped, take off was very quick and no stall. It took me about 25 minutes to figure out how get up on the damn thing
and the fact it was a marginal wind day around 15 didn't help but that was good proof of concept for me.

The PTM 1001 is an ultra high aspect and sits in a class of its own. Think downwinding and cruising, not gonna be surfy.

There is definitely a need for a wing in between the PTM 730 and the PTM 926 IMO. That is why I pointed out how the naming of these wings and where they fit is confusing.

Also they're actually 2 different 730 wings. PTM 730 and PFI 730 just to add to the confusion.

I noticed that in your recent video that you were on the Armstrong 925? or 1125? These are high aspect foils and you are using them for riding waves on Lake Ontario -- so why wouldn't the PTM 1001 work as well as the Armstrong? The PTM 1001 I think has an aspect ratio of 9.0:1 while the Armstrong foils are closer to 10:1. Anyway, I enjoy your videos so please keep them coming.

I'll bet you were out today (Dec. 16/21 -- 15 degrees C). I went out on my 4.5 metre Slick and then moved down to my 3.5 and naturally the wind backed off. Anyway, I had fun, although my feet got a little cold by the end of the session. I doubt that I'll be back on the water until late March or early April of 2022.

BTW, just got my booster shot a week ago and it knocked me off my feet for 24 hours -- I shivered more from the booster than I did from being in or on the frigid water for a couple of hours -- go figure (not complaining, just an observation).

I didn't say the PTM 1001 wouldn't work as well as an Armstrong HA. I'm sure it is an excellent wing but it's much different then the PTM 730 and PTM 926 that was my point.

I was riding the 925 in that video. I find it too much foil when using the wing in waves. It's just too slow rail to rail for the way I want to ride. I do love it prone foiling. That is why I'm interested in the HA725 and PTM 730.

Thanks! It does looks really nice. Stealthy and slick. That what got me initially. Luckily, it works as good as it looks.
The build quality is really good as well, very solid foil though on the heavier side. I have a Project Cedrus mast coming in few days so that
would take off some of the weight.

I'm sure you're right. The PTM 1001 does looks like on a class of its own. Hopefully we'll see some reviews soon.
I was just stating numbers on paper surface area wise.

I kite the ptm730 and the pfi730 the PTM is fantastic, but it's increases in lift as the speed increases so a shim makes its much better. It's a wing that lets you know you're alive. Such a nice glide.
The pfi730 is my go to high wing kite foil wing. I put up my 4m and cruise on the Bayside swells.

I'm planing on winging the pfi730 from time to time, but at the moment the ptm926 is so nice it's hard to change.
I'm on the 90L Wingcraft and currently run it as far back as I can( I've only had limited time on it so I still need more time on it).
I haven't winged the ptm730 but apparently it's the go to for Wyatt Miller and the Spenser brothers when the winds up.

As for a wing between the two PTM's I'm sure Tony's probably cooking something up.

Just for clarity, are those winging on the 926 or 730 using the 872 or 710 fuse?

I found the design of the phantasm allows you to put the mast a lot further forward in the mast tracks than the HG system did.

I've winged the 926 a few times and loved it. That was on the 710 fuse.

I tried the 926 + 710 fuse on my wind foil board and found it got up super early but very very pitchy.

I'm winging on the 710 fuse kiting on the 653 fuse

The 872 fuse makes popping up harder in light winds but I have used it well in 16+Knots I was using the longer fuse on the SS hover glide foil so it's taken a bit of time to get used to the 710 shorter fuse with the phantasm, the 926 does carve with it very nicely in the turns though!

In the U.S. won't be available to at least end of the first quarter in 2022.

The wing raider will be in Australia around March-April. All slingshot dealers were sent the hype and order form a few months back.

About the position in the mask tracks, I ride it as far in front as possible. I even use the middle hole in the front of the foot plate to get it even further forward. So I think it's it's good that in the new boats the mask tracks are even further than front.

Thanks for your input ulx. Very interesting. Could you describe your adaptive pumping technique? And how early is early?
Coming from foils with thicker leading edge, pumping the way I'm used to and as early only stalls the foil for me.
If I had to guess why based on the feedback I get from the foil, it seem to me that one must not dip under certain angle of attack
in order keep it going?

What about your board specs to complete the equation? I have moved the mast an Inch forward since posting here as it is
the most balanced position riding it.

The pumping is basically the kind Balz Mueller put online some time ago
I had seen it several times before but with the 926 I really needed that. Now I am experimating a bit with how exzessively I have to do the boardpumping. Sometimes a very mellow version is enough. How much wind I need to get going I cannot really say. With my 75l SS Wingcraft and the 5.5 Slingwing V3 I would guess something about 10-12/13 knots? Can?t say for sure. I never have a windmeter with me.

A bit more info on the lineup and feedback on the PTM1001 at 18.26. They like it.

Mackiteboarding just posted a review. He also compares the 926.

They all seem to like it a lot exactly for the same reason I do my 926. These are buttery smooth wings, very easy
to ride lots of control at speed and very easy to turn even for my mediocre skill set.

That said they all hint that these foils are a little harder to get going on lighter stuff, you could actually see it in Tucker's video, it took an effort to get it going.

Small price to pay for the high-end performance imo, Great wing to have if you find your self over powered as much as I do. Should be getting my new gofoil 1150 soon. Will be very interesting to see how they compare.

Update!

Switching from the Takuma TK95 to the Slingshot wingcraft 90 was a huge difference, now I can finally dial in the phantasm 926. The difference in performance/pumping/transitions is night and day!

Tried out the 926 wing on the 872 fuse with the Wizard 130 today with the my 5m wing,

Great combo for practicing gybes and toe side riding. The Wizard makes a surprisingly good non dedicated wing foil board in my opinion.

My PTM926 'standard' just dropped in this morning .. man that 92cm 12K mast is "factory works" quality! And that foil bag? A proper job. Bought it as my ocean swell riding machine but gonna give it a go later at the river gusting 20knts ... will report ASAP. Have been demo'ing an Axis HPS830/375/ultrashort last few days (thanks Will @standupsurfshopfreo) and it smokes on tight carving jibes and jumps even on their 19mm Ali mast. I may need two setups in the end
