Has anyone used the s380 or s430 stabilisers? I'd be keen to know how they compare to the s370/399/425.
It would be for use with the 980 Razor, plus a smaller Razor and Lev1350. For SUP foil and winging.
I've used the s370 with the R980 which is fine, but Sabfoil kits are coming out with the s380/430 for the Razors.
I have used the S430 and S399.
The S430 has a lot more stability in yaw, pitch and roll than the S399. In pitch control, the S430 with no shim is quite lifty, like the S399 with a 1.5 deg shim on it. The roll stability of the S430 might feel like too much in combo with a wide span HA front foil. The yaw stability is I think a preference thing and I like it with my shorter fuselages. If you use a fast front foil, you'll notice that the S430 is a lot slower. More drag.
The S430's combo of firm yaw stability but unable to go real fast didn't make sense to me. So I trimmed down the tips a little which loosened it up just a little, but not much faster. Next I sanded the S430 section to be thinner in the rear half, both sides, faired into the front, and to my surprise this re-work sped it up a lot. I'm really enjoying my S430mk2 on my shorter fuselages.
The little brother foil to the S430, the S380, would be very interesting to try, presuming it can go as fast as the S399, or faster.
