Hi ! I am using an Armstrong 1200 foil with the 212 chopped stab and -1 shim. when i am on the water i am always the slower rider. Kilter, windsurfer and a lot of other foiler just got a better speed than me. Anyone got tips or experience speed problem ?

I am have medium skills i can tack both side, jump and ride wave but i really miss the trick regarding the speed on water.

Do longer runs, less moves.
Use smaller foils, bigger wings.

I haven't ridden the CF1200, but rather than the -1 shim (which gives you more lift and drag), you could try the +1 shim to get a bit more speed out of that set up. Ride as high on the mast as possible. Don't discount the type of wing you're using in the equation. Some are great for drifting while wave riding but are not very fast in a straight line powered up. My Konrad wing for example is light and super balanced flagged out down wind on waves but is pretty slow compared to say, an Armstrong or Takuma Wingride 3 in the straights and upwind. The CF series foils aren't designed for all out top speed. An HA 1125 might be the ticket for blasting past people. The HS1250 is pretty quick too.

I use the HS 1250 that why I am must miss something

Are you on the CF1200 or HS1250? It makes a big difference when it comes to speed.

What he said. Plus technique is king, when I started I was as slow as, now I am way faster. Which is not saying much but I can keep up with surfboard kites and surf windsurfers easily now on the 1250.

Also try wearing a gps unit and try to increase your speeds buy trying different techniques and gear setup you will get a bit more speed and see your results straight away and this will drive you to push a bit more it all takes time and learning from mistakes
