Does anyone know how you remove the below wrist cuff from the leash?

The metal clasp just spins and I can't see any obvious way of separating it?

For that one you need a knife. be interesting to see how that little bit of rope is attached onto the wrist cuff. is it just a few stitches on the end or does it go further round with lots of stitching?

It goes further round with lots of stitching.

Do you mean, use a knife to cut the rope? So you can't separate the metal clip?

Remove the entire leash from the wing. Sell it. Buy another leash type/model as you need it?

I have the same leash on my North wing and it's of superb quality. The velcro is long lasting. The wrist strap is super comfy.

Curious to know why you want to open the metal swivel..? I gather you want to replace the wrist strap by some sort of hook or ring to clasp on a waist belt? (Sorry my English..)

metal grinder / hacksaw the eyelets at each end of the swivel then replace with a small loop of cord. Or like the others said cut the cord on the cuff and sew in a new piece of cord to the cuff (need a tough sewing machine)

The little metal thing is a fishing swivel.

As someone said earlier, why do you want to separate the leash from the cuff? What are you trying to achieve? The method of separating will vary depending on which bits you want to keep whole for future use and how you want to combine them.

As has also been said, the only way to remove the swivel is to cut the swivel or cut/unpick the webbing/rope bits going through the swivel eyes. It's easy enough to re-sew that stuff but you need to be prepared to put in some effort.

How do you know the little bit of rope is stitched all the way round without removing the patch with north logo on?

the metal swivel is fixed and does not come apart unless you break it so you either need to cut rope on wrist cuff or rope on leash

Yes, I prefer a waist leash so assumed I could open the metal clasp and replace it with a hook or similar to attach to my current waist belt.

I find the leash gets wrapped around me when I gybe if I have it on a wrist leash - I assume you don't have that issue?

I can feel a lump underneath the patch in both directions, but you're right I don't know how far it goes as I can't see it and it may only be a short distance.

Think I'm going to see if I can remove the leash from the wing and replace with a new leash - then I have the old one in one piece when I no doubt sell the wing in the future :)

Good point about leash getting wrapped around when gybing. Does a waist leash resolve that? I need to try :-)

Glad you're leaving the old leash in 1 piece for future resale (it's such a high quality product)

Could you velcro the wrist leash around your waist leash?
