Hi
I wanted to know opinions about where to put the rear footstrap comparing with the position of foil mast for the following use: I ony want to use the rear footstrap for jumping and maybe for pumping, but normally I will have my rear foot in front of this rear footstrap while flying.

My rear footstrap is offset towards the toeside rail, that's where my foot ends up when swell riding. I rode strapless and noted where my foot was most comfortable the put the strap there.

If the rear is only used for jumping I like to have it positioned so that my foot's arch is centred over the trailing edge of the mast to help with pop (Armstrong and Omen foils). Pumping is better with the foot out of the strap and closer to the front edge of the mast.

All the way to the back. Only use it for jumping.

Totally depends on the foil. Some foils are pretty forgiving on where you ride the back foot, but others aren't. Also, you often can't compare back foot position on different brands of foils due to pitch sensitivity, fuse length, mast//fuse connection point, etc..

For more forgiving foils, just figure out your natural stance, then put the strap just behind that stance.

For foils that aren't as forgiving, you may struggle to find a position where you can ride both in and out of the strap.
