I got email confirmation from Flysurfer in Germany yesterday that they are developing a conversion kit so their single-skin Peak kites can be used as parawings. They said they expect a product launch about April. No cost has been decided yet. The bit of chat I've read about conversions is the Peaks go a bit better upwind than dedicated parawings on the market because they are higher aspect.

So your telling me I should not have sold off my peaks . A 13m parawing sure would be interesting...lol.

Very cool to hear FS may officially support the conversion. Suspect it will still be a compromise though as a dw assist or for frequent stashing for wave rides due to the aspect ratio and bridle configuration not being optimized for packing away on the fly.

Interesting... from what I recall the Peaks have really long bridles with a couple of pulleys right? So the kit would have to replace the entire bridle?

Also, the Peaks really held water in the pockets at the tips - I'd be interested to see how they solve that. Maybe you could unstitch a section to make water relaunch easier?

I converted my 4m Peak4 just but cutting the lines short and re-tying. some details here, it was a very easy project.

because it is so high aspect, I think it will be hard to get the bridle lines much shorter than 1.5m, which is a little too long in my opinion. The pull angle on the tips to the bar ends up wrong and will likely not fly right with such short bridlesI haven't ridden any other brands, so don't ask me how well it works, good enough for me to fool around on I guess.

So i think this is a really cool idea for having multi-use equipment. this would be an awesome piece of travel kit - a 5M foil kite for 12-18 kts and a parawing for 18-25!

I don't think flysurfer is doing a conversion kit. I read it here or progression Forum a while back. I think the reason given was that the performance wouldn't be great so they decided to focus on dedicated parawings instead
