Hey thanks for sharing this info. The parawing pouch/ belt is definitely something that needs some refinement.
I have been thinking of a kind of 2 stage stashing setup. A stretchy elastic pouch for basic stowing when you want to be able to launch it again easily. The second stage would then lock it down so it's totally secure and wouldn't come loose even in heavy use situations such as solid breaking surf.
first stage is pretty easy and really already available with the stretchy pouch belts that are already being offered by a few companies. The second stage would need a quick lock mechanism to fully secure the wing quickly. A zipper would be good but zips usually need 2 hands to work them. I had been thinking of a compression strap that squeezes down on the wing and locks it in place. You would only need to grab the end of the strap and yank on it to lock the wing down. Relaunch would then take 2 hands but the locking down could be very quick and one handed.
Interesting to see that ozone is offering an additional extra bar clip with their para belt. I definitely like the idea of keeping the bar separate when stowing. I guess our own seabreeze local
@sheps was onto something with the bar clips he's been making and now the big brands are following suit.
Really I think when we can get parawings locked down securely very quickly and reliably that will open up riding in proper big surf. If you could whip in from way out the back and super quickly get your wing locked in so it can never come loose then you'd be your own jetski driver doing tow foil whip ins.
