Been a long time user of the PPC Surge wing. In fact still on my originals since I started over 2 years ago. Not much has really changed in their line-up over this time. Still using soft handles and same material. I don't mind my wings, however that is all I really know as haven't tried anything else. That said, any news on what direction they are heading in the future with regards to wing development - handles and materials? Nothing comes up on their website.
Yeah it would be interesting to see if they will change their formula. Nearly everyone rides them where I live. I have the 3.8 & 4.8 & really like them however would look at getting hard handles next time I buy a wing. I find the reach to the second handle too far & I have long arms. Also the lead is really floppy & wraps around the sombrero. They were one of the best at the time however the new generation of wings are making them look very basic. I'm not sure if Sam would go with new materials, I think he would follow on from ozones latest designs. Armie certainly hasn't & is pretty happy with his choice. The only thing I'd like is if there are windows then position them where they're useful:-)
Rumor is that there is a new wing with a revolutionary leading edge/strut material on its way. Reported to run pressures of around 18-25psi !! Imagine it would have hard handle options too.
515 said.. I know on the NZ Foiling Face book pages they are doing a deal for multiple wings so imagine the release of new wing isn't far away
If it's the 3 for $3K deal that's been around for about a year. I got one of mine from a bloke who bought the 3. If it's the blend on sale then I think it's maybe cos it's not that popular.
