yesterday was my first session on ozone fusion, I am happy to answer any questions about it, here are a few questions I think people will ask :)Below is some footage, if people are interested I can post more footage this is just a condensed version of 20 minutes of footage, I am planning to make a full narrated review of the fusion and compile some real testing with GPS and electronic compass system (salmon) to see if the angles upwind and downwind are actually better, and compare it to regular wings

- The most surprising thing about the wingthe amount of vertical lift the wing has is incredible, it is especially noticeable through transitions, especially tacks the wing doesn't flat and is super easy to use-does water come in?Yes, but only a little, and even in my short session I figured out how to take off whilst keeping the vents empty, you start in stink bug with the wing flipped over
- is it heavy?
it felt the same as the Flux which I have used a lot of (5m as well)
- is it fragile?
Due to the material choices some areas are very fragile and would be prone to tears, the canopy side that faces you whilst riding is the same as the ozone foil kites, which can be ripped with your fingernails if you're not careful, and the normal canopy side is a ripstop that appears to the same thickness as what was used in the central panels of the flux
-does it flag out good
kinda, however, this wing was not made for that purpose, it has the same ozone flag out handle as all their previous wings which some may find a little flimsy, as the canopy is not flat, and the wing is very unstable behind you, a normal wing with some flap in the canopy has some drag with added stability-How does it pump?this was very easy to get on foil, some info I heard outlined the different techniques needed to get on foil, however, I don't believe it from my short test, I just pumped with a similar motion to other wings and it got up just as well

-is this wing for everyone?
No, this is not a beginner or even intermediate sailor wing, unless you have a lot of money, this is a wing you want to keep dry and ride at fast speeds with small foils, otherwise there is no real gain from using it other than lookswind: 12-15knequipment used:fusion 5mPPC soar pro 93Laxis art 899I am not affiliated with Ozone however I do work with the shop WASURF so take whatever i say however you like, in my time winging i have tried almost every wing on the market if that means anything :)

The rudimentary seam layout is surprising, haven't seen that on a well developed wing in some time.
Also unsure they really needed double surfaces all the way to the trailing edge.
Going to be very interesting seeing where wings go next year.

I was very keen but now apprehensive.

what do you mean? this is a similar panel layout to foil kites and when the canopy actually fills with air the whole profile looks better, the pictures i shared are just after pumping it up and the canopy has little shape

I'd like to see some video of the 3m or 3.6m in action. Also video of the wing flagged.

Are this and Gongs design patented? Meaning, can others replicate this concept?

The loads are different in a kite than a wing. I'm sure it performs well but I can't help thinking they are giving up on both longevity and stiffness with that layout.
Gen 2 double surface wings will be interesting.

Still waiting for the right conditions, we had 30+ kn last week which was way too much, I was powered on my ppc 2.8m with kite foil ??, I have done some sessions with a mate on a similar foil just with a 2023 unit 6m, and I was going 1-2kn faster upwind with maybe a marginal better upwind angle, however downwind I have been struggling alot especially when it's not full lit, I feel the wing is best when you would use a 4m regular wing, lighter conditions a regular big wing will be better, still trying to figure it all out so don't take it as gospel

Levitaz r5 (around 500 sqcm) wind was 18-25kn it was very gusty and stormy the water conditions were very far from ideal,
