Cleanest conditions, great fun. Paddle back in if the wind drops out. Can be gusty. If the wind is strong it is challenging work riding the wave straight into the wind, wave speed + wind speed = stronger wind.

I think I will try to utilise the offshore conditions more this summer

Will the end of the wave give you a flagged out tack when you swap directions that will be cool

It's awesome, smooth and makes the waves good. Always a bit gusty here with some dropouts but so much fun to beam reach kilometres up a stretch of beach on groomed water.
Like Hilly said, just paddle back if it goes sour. It's not kiting.

I think the word is breeze - not gale. I'm keen to do this sort of thing as well. Good thing with the foil is it has good upwind ability so getting back to shore should be OK.
HOWEVER, I think anyone who's considering this should temper their outlook with their experience, their paddling ability (have you tried paddling the kit home into a headwind?) the forecast (is wind going to increase?), prevailing currents and keeping in mind gear failures.
If you're first timing it, I'd be looking for a wingding partner to assist if thing go a bit pear shaped. Once you've done it a few times you should have a pretty good idea of what it would be like getting home in the case of something unexpected happening.
