Looks like Mathis Ghio has been testing a dual skin wing from Ocean Rodeo. It is not a full dual skin RAM design like the Ozone Fusion, but there is a dual skin panel toward the leading edge that smooths flow. More similar to the dual skin design from Gong than Ozone. Maybe this upcoming release is why retailers (Real) are starting to blow out the A and AA series wings at big discounts.
Also noticed that Mathis was riding the Ozone Fusion for some of the races at Defi (I believe he was on OR for some of them) and had an Ozone board (don't think he used it for the race) and T Shirt on the podium. It would appear that he is switching brands, although I haven't seen an official announcement yet.
I read on another post that Ocean Rodeo is no more, the company owning the brand, Aluula Composites is stopping production and concentrating on the supply of advanced materials.
Having just bought a couple of their AA wings this was a shocker to me. I reached out and asked what was up and got a quick response.
Essentially OR production is just on pause for the moment. They are vetting a buyer, and it sounds like they expect things to go back to normal after this transition.
As Velocicraptor pointed out, they are trying to eliminate a conflict of interest, which was essentially Ocean Rodeo being an Aluula insider, which makes sense to me as well.
I expect they will be back to normal in a few weeks once a transfer of ownership is complete.
