Newb wingfoiler here coming from a windsurf background with roughly 20 sessions under my belt. Riding a 105 JP x-winger board with a Cabrinha HA 1000 foil. Feeling comfortable/confident doing long runs and doing carving s-turns. Recently put on footstraps and loving having them. Trying but have yet to nail a jybe.

I'm now thinking about what's next from a gear perspective and looking at smaller boards and hoping for advise.

I weight 75kgs and have been eyeing some 2nd hand Duotone/Fanatic Sky Style boards on the market.

Question for the group are:
- Is the right board for my level and what I'm trying to do? I'm mostly freeride I guess and enjoy carving the swells/bumps on the bay.
- What size can I comfortably jump to? Thinking anywhere from 65L, 75L, 85L options

Happy to hear all suggestions on boards. I'm new to this space so feeling a bit clueless looking through the buy/sell section.

Model choice advice - only if it's the sandwich construction one. I am looking at three of the purple sky wing in my repair rack right now.

Learn about your BARG Factor: www.wouzel.com/post/calculating-your-barg-factor and try to keep that number up while learning. It's important to look at shape AND volume!

Your current board calculates out to: 3.25 and for what it's worth, with maybe 8000 miles of winging under my belt at this point I still love my 3.5.

I also wouldn't worry about changing boards until your gybing and switching feet unless you really dislike the board. Demo stuff, try friends, feel things out. Don't rush to the next purchase.

If surfing is your priority I would look for boards no wider than 20". Volume and length are not as big a factor and depends on foil and wing size you like to use. Smaller foil and wing go longer and more volume and vice versa. Skinny boards are so much better when cranking turns rail to rail.
