This is the first wing from Naish that interests me -- I think this wing will put Naish up there with the best!

I had a 5m in my hands today but unfortunately the wind was only 8-10kn so I didn't get to try it on the water. As a Naish user ( Matadors, S26 and MK4 ), it feels like it wants to go. Shape is totally different to other wings and almost dragon flyish in the way it
arcs up when inflated and canopy tension seems to be increased.
A bugger I wasn't able to get out on the water with it. Having gotten used to the usual stiff Naish handles, I'm still to be convinced on the solid ones.

In the attached review it is recommended that the 5 metre not be pumped up over 6 psi.

These look great, I usually don't consider Naish wings as an option, but will take a look at these going forwards. Those soft handles look well-tensioned, they remind me of Takuma Wingride III, not at all a bad thing, something I appreciate for cold weather riding to prevent arm pump.

It has 7-9 psi written on the wing. I had it to 7psi, and that's where I usually pump my other wings up to as well.

The ADX is turning heads everywhere it goes. First stocks should be here late May/Early June, but only in limited numbers, then main stock here September. Strongly suggest getting your name on one early so you don't miss out.

As soon as we get a bit of wind here i have a 5m to test run... Hopefully Monday.

Tried the 5mtr ADX today, it was bloody light, around 5-6 knots so had to resort to the Foildrive to get me up flying. Very stable walking down to the water, my Slicks are definitely not this stable.
Once up it was really nice, accelerated nicely to around 13-14 knots in the light conditions, nice and stable. The handles are quite thin, I normally use a Slick and these were definitely a smaller diameter but I liked it. The grip is very good, textured so no slipping and no need for a tight grip. I'm 78kgs using the Mach 1 900, 220 stab on the 85cm 100% carbon mast.


Looking forward to giving it a proper go in a bit more wind later in in the week.

Been a Naish user for many years, from at least the Naish AR3.5 two line kite, ( twenty four years ago?) so I am slightly biased. There have been great times, the Helix kite was fast and excellent, but too rad to sell well, The Pivot kites just 'work' brilliantly. I've not had a good time with my choice of Naish foils for Winging , so changed to F-One.
But this ADX is something else! Just bought a 5m and a 4m, Looks amazing, Build quality is immaculate, when you power it up on the shore, it lifts, and tends to move forward, feels light and lively.
Canopy tension is quite high, and there seems to be some flex in the outer parts of the front tube which allows the canopy to 'breathe' a bit, but not too much.
I am used to soft handles, so this kite with hard and thin handles felt connected but a little unforgiving, but the pumping for take off was very precise.
Upwind angles were very good, could 'just sheet in' and go .

Basically try one.

No transverse panels. No battens. The heavyweight/multiple layer fabric thing across the strut joint seems to be a thing.

It will be interesting to see which design trends are progressing the products and which are just marketing hype. Windows have gone from none, to huge, to small, to teeny weeny in all sorts of places.

Another session on the 5mtr ADX today,conditions were gusty offshore winds. Could have been on either a 3mtr or a 6mtr depending on the gust or lack of one. The ADX was good, even pull on both arms, even in the big gusts. I wasn't wearing a harness to really test for back winding, but when I did crank hard to windward there was little evidence of it.


The canopy was taught throughout the range, no flapping. I did try a few tacks but the gusty wind defeated me, the wing holds a lot of power and you must be very forceful as you go through the eye of the wind. I notice this on my 5mtr SLS as well, possibly due to the tight canopy.


Those handles are rigid, no flex at all, gives a real direct feel and great for pumping. Gybes were easy and there was no problem finding the wide handles. Not much chance to flag due to the offshore winds and small chop but the few times I did try the wing behaved nicely, not wanting to flip over.


I'm 5'9 and never had an issue dipping the tips. The windows are tiny but adequate. Big windows just add weight so I'd rather small or none at all. They are actually well placed and found myself looking through the lower wing fronts and upper wing rear, just the movement of the wing gives good visibility but there are still blind spots.


The wrist leash provided is great, dyneema over elastic, definitely not going to break. It's a nice length and didn't get in the way at all. Might buy some for my Slicks if they become available aftermarket.


Definitely a wing to demo. Thanks to Briskites for lending it, time to hand it on to another winger.

Gave the 5m a crack yesterday.

15 to 25knts very gust offshore winds.

This wing pulls like a freight train. It feels wide on the beach for a 5m but in action on the water it feels fine and there was no tip dragging.

The most noticeable difference to the Matador is the the amount of vertical lift and front hand pull. I think if you are boosting airs, you would be very impressed with this wing.

Not sure about the handles, it was my first experience with rigid handles, i feel they could be thicker but the level of grip is excellent and you need to concentrate when moving your hand around under load as you can't just slide your hand around.

Need to give it another go in more stable winds to get a proper feel for it.

Having the leash attachment under the front handle is a nice addition as this keeps the leash well out of the way when changing hands or flagging out.

Reading 'Browy's report on the ADX , I think he summed up the 'Pull' of the ADX really well. This afternoon I used both the 4m and the 5m ADX in quite patchy winds on our local reservoir with gusts coming through of 29Knots while using the 4m, and gusts of up to 25 knots will using the 5m. This was my first time on the 5m. I had written previously about the build quality, which is excellent. and the taut canopy tension, with what seems like leading edge tips that flex a little bit. (good thing)

First impressions of the 5m... I don't have a GPS , so this is judged from buoys, and features on the edge of the 1 mile diameter reservoir. The ADX goes up wind really well!, There was no 'backwinding' even when pinching tight to the wind, at times it looked as though I was heading directly at the rolling chop, which I wasn't! but it seemed like that.
Visually the Wing looks quite 'High Aspect', I suppose this helps in it's wide wind range? but maybe takes away a little bit of low end grunt?

For the first few minutes the hard handles along with the tight-ish canopy felt unforgiving, later that feeling was, "Damn this wing is precise."

It does tend to flip over onto it's back after a crash, but so did my Ex , so not all bad !

On some wings if you put leash through flagging handle tension holds it onto water surface instead of flipping. don't know about your Ex though

I rode the 7m today in 9-12kn using a HA1400 foil and it has plenty of grunt. The canopy stays really tight and it pumps well to pick up gusts. It seems surprisingly small for its size.
Pulled really well upwind and even flagged ok on the wake when boats were passing.

I own, and have have been using the MK IV 7.5m for a year or so and if you're thinking of a light wind wing, the 7m ADX would be a good choice. It will take some time to get used to the solid handles though.
