It's more a paddle board than a wing one.

Interesting to see large brands jumping into the new paddle DW market, which is still a niche, just for sporty+adventurous customers.

Good looking boards.
I don't get why they bother with their 4 track drop-in system though. Just make the tracks 13 or 14" long with slot at back and appeal to a bigger wider range of foil brands and riders.

Fairly similar to Barracuda, KT...which is a good thing

Is that not hideously expensive to you guys for a board?

The price is slightly lower than most production DW boards in the market (not custom boards).

the 4 hole track is compatible with any foil. in case u have a plate with round hole (not eyelets) then you can install it faster.
I see only upsides and zero problems of compatibility

You can not push the foil all the way forward in the tracks.

The price seems more than fair. I have a similar track system on my Gong board absolutely love it, it makes setup so fast, just drop the foil on, tighten and go. With a well positioned track system that 2cm of range wouldn't be missed at all.

I had north boards with that track system and it is not really that faster or easier to set up than with tracks with the hole at the end of the tracks. You maybe save one or two seconds .

not a bad looking board, north seem to do some alright stuff even from the kiting days

But if you are in OZ why would you not buy a ONE Downwind board? $2500 that includes Freight. Comes out of Kinetic factory same place that does Kalama and JL. Designed by guys that DW foil everyday

www.oneoceansportsaustralia.com/shop/p/downwind-foil-boards

I got myself a Light Blue 7'10 one and love the thing.

Sorry to highjack the thread maybe it needs it's own page

Problem with North is that they often late to the game....releasing DW board now while Armstrong, F-One etc released same 1 yr ago. And this board in particular seems a copycat of Kalama , KT and F-One Rocket Downwind.

Now it seems that the DW board design, particularly for 7ft + boards, is somehow stabilizing whereas the R&D for shorter DW board is in full swing. Maybe North could have come up with a mid 6ft design which is attracting a lot of interest particularly In Europe where we dont have the same swell HI or the Gorge enjoy..

I agree that they can seem late to the game but in my experience the quality on their gear is super high and I think there is security in knowing that they have a high bar on all their new stuff. They only just released DW foils! again super late to game but smart too, means you can confirm across the industry what works and what doesn't. Just my opinion.

A copycat of three completely different DW board concepts, interesting...

completely different? long, narrow, displacement hull, raised tail. they not the same, but the main traits are not that different.

You're missing that there is a slight concept departure between the boards, some going more displacement with a rounder canoe hull through the nose - see Amos Bullet, while others going for a flatter planing hull - Kalama

North have gone down the displacement route, note the flat planing area is small and limited to tail

Compare to the Kalama and Aromstrong which are flatter through the nose

SCAM ALERT. I don't know for sure... but be careful on this web site.

This website has these boards at a crazy price of $475. But I think this scam.

Maybe someone here can address this before someone loses their money.
