Hi fellow wing foilers from Sydney
Please find link below regarding new wharf development at laparouse which doesn't seems to impact us foilers using this area.

Please explain how it doesn't impact foilers? Have you actually been there?

It appears that the beaches on Yarra Bay ( where we launch to foil / windsurf ) is not touched.
Once launched, one can stay away from the Ferry terminal areas and have access to the whole of the bay
and across to the Kernel side.
The previous proposed international cruise terminal ( now no longer exist ) have an exclusion zone which
covered the whole bay and would have killed wingfoiling / windsurfing completely.
Just like I don't think there is an exclusion zone for the Manly Ferry at Manly, I think ?
Yes, Laperouse is my favourite wingfoiling spot for any Westerly winds in Sydney.

For 40+ years my sailboard and foil launch (in a SW wind) was from this point:

I can't do that anymore from what I saw of the construction in July.

It looks like we have to try launching from the beach near the playground and paddling out.

In a typical winter Westerly, the best bumps area is actually right where the wharf is. So yes this is having a major impact, plus the exclusion zone is massive which we now have to navigate around for 2 years....

The best Sydney foiling spots are slowly disappearing.
