I've had S25 125 and 110 L and a S26 96 L Hover. The first two I used Naish foils and with the 95 L, only Armstrong: 1850, 1550 V2 and V1 and 1250.
I never felt great on the Armie gear and the 95 L Hover. The mast slammed all the way forward in the tracks, but I didn't change the position of the screws to give me that last extra centimeter or so of forward position. I also did not shim the stab. I had to pump to maintain my elevation on foil and even if I moved my weight fore or aft, I never found that sweet spot and pumping was not very efficient.
I just moved to an Amos 90 L board using the Armie foils and all of a sudden the whole rig is alive, light and responsive. Pumping is vastly more efficient and the board glides effortlessly compared to the Armie gear's position on the Naish. Elevation on foil is maintained and not even a thought to consider.
It's like night and day compared to the same foil rig on the Naish.
In retrospect, I should have switched the position of the front screws to absololuteluy max out fore position of the foil or used a shim. But I didn't know better. I wonder how many others are in the same position? They simply don't know how the Armie gear is mean to feel when in the right position on the board? I'm surprised to read here how many are OK with their Armie gear even in the middle of the tracks. Possibly also related to the type of Armie foil (HS vs HA vs CF).
So my answer to the OP (goggo) or anyone else who is considering Armie foil rig on Naish S26 is to test other foils first before making that decision. I personally would not recommend that combo.
Interesting comments. So many variables, S 25 , S 26, body weight, conditions. Been riding 5'3" V1 Gong Hipe in Hawaii on same foil as S 26 at home, once on foil all good, touch downs not so much. Swings and round abouts, I tend to ride what I have access to, at a reasonable price. Mostly ride second heaven.
