Yo. Currently got a matador lt 5m and looking at getting another as they are discounted right now.

But the question is should I get 3m or 4m?

Tempted to get the 3m to cover a wider wind range but is the gap between 3 and 5 too big?

Any advice?

Depends on your local wind conditions. I use the 4M often and can count on one hand the times I get to use the 3. Just like windsurf sails, once you go below 4M, they start to get twitchy. A very Off or On feeling. But.if you live where it nukes often, get the 3.

How do you like the 4m?
I have the 6m and it's ok, things I don't like, back winds easy top of wind range, back strap to far away.

is the 4m better? Asking as good discount going and tempted for 4m size.

I've been happy with a 4,5 & 6M set of Matadors. Don't think I would worry about a 3m for those handful of days. Just end up on the smallest front wing when super powered on the 4M.

I've used my 3m Matador a few time and really like it.. If you mostly use big wings it will feel twitchy and very on/off at first but if you are used to 4m size wing you will love it.. It's still very powerful for a small wing but handles strong gusts like a dream.. A 5m and a 3m would be a good quiver for people who aren't too heavy.. I'm keeping mine.

Nice vid. Hard to tell the wind speed here but doesn't look crazy windy and still going well on the 3m

For me at 70kg on the 4m, the fun finishes at around 15-16kn. After that, it's a white knuckle and hanging on experience.
If you're into straight line speeding, it could be enjoyable.

I would dream of conditions like that for a 3m wing. when I use a 3 it's big knarly swell and not much fun
