I had an original orange one (V25?) and it was 6kg, then I got the later Silver one (V26?) and it was 7kg - apparently Naish specced a more complete PVC wrap on the newer model

Just weighed mine, 7.3kg with three wet footstraps and a small bit of Gaffa tape holding the deck pad on.

Thanks dudes
seeing as though I've just put better tracks in and a lot of extra lam, i am no longer getting upset about my 6.5 with no deck pad. Fix the heel dents and new pad, shoot for 7kg and it's not a throwaway any more

^^ If its the same it won't sell well.
Lol

I'd hope it has different tracks (and put in correctly) for a start

I have the hover ascend 82L 5'3 x 26.3" weighs 6.5Kg built like a tank and super stable in messy on shore for me 78kg

I also have 2022 model 75L at 5.6kg which is a great design but as Mark said tracks too far back. Ok for 1550v2 and 1250 but not the higher aspects.

whats the thoughts on extending tracks? Should I cut out the handle and most of the existing box to drop in the newy?

or trim the HD foam and try fit it same as orig tracks but extending up to handle?

It's not that they're in the wrong place they are rubbish quality tracks installed poorly and they break. Sorry to say those ones you have there are not real good but if u install them with a couple of layers of glass around the tracks into the block, you will get away with it

and that model is not real strong.

Ohh where did my edit go?
Cut the block to go around the handle install its about 15mm wider then the hole.

But if its soft anywhere, or heel dented, its not worth the bother

Thanks for the advice Mark. I like the shape on the 75L and the 95L I had previously. I haven't been jumping so never had issue with breakages in tracks or depressions etc.

The newer Ascend model is heavier and feels more solid. Do you know if quality of tracks improved in the Ascend?
