I think that 65l won't be stable, will float too much and you will be fighting the board regardless of shape.
You want the board to float you or sink.anything in the middle becomes very uncomfortable and harder to ride.

i'm also around 86 kgs, and i use an Omen 5'7" 72L board in all conditions. no problem getting up and no stinkbug required. Better and heavier wingers than me use the Omen 5'2" 60L. I think these are considered hybrid boards (a bit longer, a bit narrower), but whatever the label, they seem to work.

My only board is a 4.10 78L north seek. Its pretty wide to do a stinkbug start and wobbly when knee start. So I'm thinking to go smaller also.

ive recently got a 5'1 x 20 50L and it is easier to get going than my 4'9 65L
also way more responsive in waves.

for freestyle shorter and wider is better but for waves longer and thinner and less volume

Wide board is only good at landing jump.

Long and thin will be more stable only if it sinks, sitting at the top of the water will be less stable. Most boards will be stable if they sink enough and you are not fighting the corkiness of the board trying to float up. If it is too short you are also fighting front to back stability, here narrow boards do better. Narrow boards come into foil quicker but this less of an argument on sinkers. Once the foil engages the width doesn't matter, unless super wide. Most sinkers are around 21/22 wide anyway.
