What kinds of setups are you all using for low-wind situations. Is it possible to foil under 10 knots of wind?

I use a 6M wing and 2400 front foil. I find I still need ~11 knots to get going (or tiny whitecaps as another indication)

It's the same challenge kiting faced until foil kites and foil wings came along.

We were all dicking around on large surfboards, formula boards, doors and 21m foil kites to go around 10 knots.
Along comes the hydrofoil and we all suddenly talking about fun from 7 or 8 knots.

At the moment it is too much work winging @ 10 knots for me. I will kite instead. But with winging borrowing so many ideas from the past and building new capabilities all the time, 10 knots might become FUN :-) .

I find that if you get a 10-12 knot gust it can get you up on the foil and the wind can drop to 8-10 knots and you can keep foiling through that low wind speed.

I borrowed a 7'2 Naish wing and used with my Gofoil M200 and got going in barely 8 knots last week. No one else on the water. Once on foil it was pretty easy but no way I would bother with a wing that big, it's not that enjoyable to be honest.
