Considering buying a bike and strapping a foil rack to it. What have you all come up with to transport winging equipment to the beach. Ideally something commercially available with minimum engineering required.

I tried this and ended up just throwing the board + foil on a shoulder and ding in the bag on the other and riding the bike with one hand. Good for a mile or so then it got old.

The racks are from online marketplace, front is a pushbike seat post fitting & rear is a moped set.

Anyone found anything online that is thick enough to fit a wingboard? Love the DIY but don't have access to real tools or a workspace at the moment.

What wingboard do you have? How thick is it?

Most bike/motorcycle board racks are made from aluminium tubing which is easily opened to fit thicker boards. I carry my Naish hover 125 or hypernut easily.

So when you're out on the water, what do you do with all the gear on the trailer? Ever have stuff stolen?

There are a few options available for transporting winging equipment to the beach with a bike. One popular option is to use a bike rack specifically designed for carrying windsurfing equipment. These racks typically attach to the bike frame and have straps or loops to secure the equipment. These bikes can be supported, and some examples of commercially available windsurfing bike racks are the Thule Windsurf Carrier and the Yakima Windsurf Carrier.
Another option is to use a cargo bike or a bike with a cargo rack. These types of bikes have larger racks attached to the frame that can accommodate windsurfing equipment. Some examples of cargo bikes are the Surly Big Dummy and the Yuba Spicy Curry.

I ride with my bicycle about 3,5 Kilometer in Vienna to a sidearm of the danube.

I use a standard bike trailer and strap my board 5"10 f-one rocket on top.
The rest of the gear ist in the trailer.

Sorry for my bad englisch...

I am using a standard surfboard rack and just cranked it open a bit, but the SUP ones would do the trick. as i generally use this setup for a downwinder and drive past my start point, i usually drop the board off and bike lock it at my launch point, then ride up with the wing on my back.

works a treat, i am doing it with an e-bike.

Not an issue.. Have ridden my windsurfing gear on a side mounted bike rack in 30+ knot winds without any issues. Surprisingly stable and intuitive to ride.
