I like the concept of longer and narrower board for sloging back to shore when wind dies.
I am 187cm at 76kg and 48 years old. Will start to wing this summer. Have already bought Cabrinha 6m and I am planing to learn on biger SUP/SUPfoil board.
Would be a JP Foil appropriate for my next, everyday lightwind cruiser board?

If you can find something around a 100L used to start on that probably is the best choice. You will progress quickly and want something smaller in my experience.

I use the JP Australia foil board 115L and it works great for wingfoiling. Been using this board for wingfoiling for over a year from 10kts to 40plus knots.

Hi, I'm 188cm, 100kg and 65 and have been winging a year. I started with a 6'11" 129litre sup and found it great. I've just changed to a 5'11" 99litre board and love it. Much more fun in every way. A little more difficult getting in when the wind dies but hardly notice the difference now, cheers

Talking about JP, they released their new wingboard on their site recently. Nice boards, just curious about the weight.

Wow... those new 2021 JP boards look really good. The X foil multi purpose foil board (SUP, Wing, Wind) has had a major overhaul offering a much more compact design. The X Winger models which are even more compact the X foil boards look really cool. Nice to see JP coming out with some awesome options.

Looks like the xfoil made all the changes I was hoping for from the JP Foil board. The JP Foil has been awesome for my WWF style windfoiling and light day winging but time to move on. ;)

Hi Luc01. I'm using the JP wood 6ft8inch board. 26 inch wide. 96 litres and floats me easy at my weight 78 to 82 kilos. I have found it more unstable in chop standing still when surf foiling.
But it is at this stage my dedicated wing board as the wind moves me along to keep more stability. Once up on foil you just have to deal with foil stability.
As for prone paddling speed, it's great with its narrow width.
And I have gotten up on Neilpryde XL foil with the Cabrinha 6M wing in 15 knot wind. But not less at this stage.

15 knots is most comon afternoon wind, where I go to my summer vacations. It dies on late afternoon and I have some wind shadow to to get out from the bay and back in. How does your board behave when not on foil? I am concerned, that with shorter, wider board, would be in every direction except right one.

Just giving a bump on this post. Anyone riding one of the JP X-Wingers?

I'm on the preorder list for an XFoil, still no word when they land in the US.

Some pricing and the stats for each size. These boards are really short with high volume -- they sure look good!

The x-winger at 5'0 95liters is one of the first boards I've seen being so short with such high volume. Ordered it from my dealer and so stoked for it to get here. Anyone in the US have it yet?

Where did you order from?

I was also looking at the Takoon Comet SW which similarly packs a lot of volume into a short size, but this looks like a good option as well.

Im 75kg, and the board is 95 litres.

Really nice board, I can get it up in very light winds. I got the 95 Lt board as I like winging in light stuff, and being 95Lt, it floats me when the wind dies off.

Where I live on the coast, the wind ding season ended mid April, so I only used the board on about 6 different days before our onshore winds disappeared for the season.

Same weight as you and want to get up easier in light wind. I am looking to get the 5ft as well. Think it will go well with my 5m Slick.

I use a 5m Unit and goes great in lIght stuff for me. I have Axis foils, and have them pretty much in the centre of the boxes. The boxes are long, so lots of room to move foils back and forth.
