Just wondering if Armstrong is releasing their 2nd generation wing soon. Our local crack (Armstrong) dealer just put all his A-Wings on sale (new, used and the demo fleet).

Anyone in NZ see new stuff on the water?

Yep, seen v2 on the water in use by mr Armie. Looks similar. Wing has V2 printed on it. The letter v is outlined rather than solid print. Dunno when

They are all called v2 for understandable reasons.. but come on! The marketing can be a bit more original? I guess wait till we get to v7

So I was by my local board shop on Maui yesterday. There was the entire range of Armstrong A-Wing V2s hanging on the wall. They said it just came in today. I didn't get to see one opened, but what I did see two new sizes a 2.5 and a 6.5. Bags looked the same shape, but it clearly said V2 on the front.

No interest in harness points or windows but the board is interesting. Look how far the mast is forward, must reduce swing weight.

"Forward geometry" I think they are calling it .

Level bottom at back no cut away and double nose concave . is that what I am seeing in that pic ??

I've also heard of a new release of HA foils of different sizes from Armstrong...

What is the thinking behind the design? Is the concept intended to keep volume in the board for knee starting, but shift the foil (and foot position) forward for increased maneuverability when on foil? I like this "best of both worlds" idea a lot, but I wonder whether it might be awkward to start towards the tail then shift everything forward when on foil. Or maybe Im misinterpreting the theory here.

Looks like a weapon for getting unstuck earlier. I would suspect that the board design reflects a fair amount of thinking from all the Americas Cup teams zipping around NZ harbors, bays, docks, and bars. Have an 88 and 60 liter on order for when they release!

I spent far too much of last summer slogging in 10 knots trying out different boards and thinking about what board shape would get foiling soonest. That shape is pretty much perfect IMHO. It also confirms my suspicion that many board mast tracks could be further forward for Armstrong foils.

Interesting you can't see any tracks either looks like it bolts straight up. Do you think maybe the fuselage is adjustable instead?
That board looks really good, I will be very keen to hear how it goes.

...or maybe there is a track and the plate is right forward in it, its really hard to tell.

Interesting they are on a HA wing. Used the 1125 with -2 shim Wingdinging today and was impressed.

That looks like a prone board. The wing ding has straight rails no bevel.

Looks like most of the new Army boards have chines running the full length of the rail, and gentle tail rocker behind foil to sharp edge release. Someone get some better shots or post the spec sheets please.

Looks different to one above from A wing promo. They are the smaller ones IMO.
I believe new wing boards will be out soon. Interested in the 6 3 130l version as a Swiss army knife sup and ding board. Promo is forward geometry as Eppo said.

The New Armstrong wing sup boards apparently coming July 1st for Northern Hemisphere, us ozzies have to wait longer. Extensive board range from 4'0 to 6'4" in 15litre increments.
custom carbon tracks at 320mm long, sound pretty good for adjustment of the foil. Good to see some innovation away from the standard 10" US boxes.
