The F-one CWC has been out for a year now and the 8m and 7m seems to still be on top for getting going in lightest of wind.

Some wings look promising but the school is out on whether they are on par or better for the asthmatic wind scenarios as the CWC.
The North "light wind", Ocean Rodeo 7m Glide, 2023 Gong SuperPower are some that look promising. But not much comparison between brands yet.

Anyway looking for some feedback or some of these And any other lightwind contenders he r e or soon to come wings. Especially from those who have tried the CWC 7m and 8m.

Handles on the North would get the nod for me. Especially in light wind I want to be able to drive the wing with one hand.

The 8m CWC is king around here but the Alula 7m are coming on strong. OR and Duotone are showing up now that they are so light.

i would have missed half the summer wind days here in Lake Michigan if it weren't for the huge 8m CWC. I weigh 220 pounds and am able to get up in light winds while the much lighter guys with their 6m wings are stuck on the water. The thing has a ton of power and it's easy to dump power once up. The one problem I have with it is gybing .... it's just hard for me to get that thing around. A recent reviewer said the Gong was baggy. CWC is pretty stiff for its size.

As far as I know it is. It certainly isn't my Slingwing v3 6.4, that's for sure.

Every time I see somebody trying to pump one of those monsters I wonder how they can work at all, flopping all over the place like that. 6 meter and up is the only place the new materials really shine.

I wish now I bought the CWC 8m when they came out, but I was too nitpicky about the flimsy handles. I was hoping for something similar to come out with better direct handles or a boom or something. Summer is almost over, so my 7m Slick should get me through fall and spring alright but next summer I'll have to a real low wind wing.

I just saw a new video comparison of the 2nd gen Gong to a Strike and they mentioned it was baggy... The latest Gong is a 5th gen and definitely not baggy. But I'm afraid it may have a big weakness of not being able to pump onto foil as early as the CWC can.
And everyone knows it doesn't matter how long you can stay up, if you can't get up.

The 8M CWC is everything it has been hyped up to be.

I am stuck in the US East Coast. It regularly blows 10 - 12 mph. I have used to 8M 20+ times and my next smallest wing is a Duotone Echo 5.0M. I will use the 8M until its blowing 18 - 20 mph and then switch to the 5.0. I have had the Slingshot V2 6.4 Meter and the Duotone Echo 7.0 Meter. The 8 is WAY better.

When the water gets a dark texture, sub white caps, there is enough wind to fly. My light air rig is with the GoFoil M280 which is the biggest foil know to mankind. 2 pumps and I am up. In a lull when I come off foil the wind is so light I can barely hold up the wing meaning the wind has dropped to between 3 - 5 mph. Otherwise you can cruise through lulls amazingly well. If there is a steady 12 mph with white caps I will switch up to the Axis 1099 and go what feels like twice as fast.

Gybing with wind above 12 mph is great, just wait for a puff. Some people complain about the weight but I am only 5'9" and 190 lbs / 86 kg and am whistling with JOY at the fact I can fly in such light air conditions. I have no complaints about the handling or the weight.

The 7 and 8m sizes are more worth it over the 6m as the v2 strike/swing in 5.5m is much stiffer than the CWC which will be more efficient to pump than the CWC 6m.

If the guy on the board isn't 50kgs then it looks like that one could be a real contender. Looking forward to hearing more on this one especially it comes with nice handles.

Kind of different wings didnt they design the cwc to flex? , i love my v2 5m strike in 15knts+ good wind.. its tighter canopy feels great , but my 6m cwc still way outperforms the low end for me if the winds a bit funny

The CWC seems floppy but that's the idea.
The pumping is different.
You get both the pull forward when you pump and as you reset you get a second pull forward as the wing recoils

Yeah that makes sense. But the strut could be stiffer ??

It is the handles that suck on this otherwise awesome lightwind machine! I use a boom on mine now and would not have this 7m if I did not have the boom option, Did I mention the handles SUCK!!

Post a picture of your boom. I love the 7.0 but just learning tacks and sometimes miss back handle on the transitions

Agree that the handles suck. That's why my Naish MK4 7.5m with the long, stiff handles is better for me. Less flop and flex when you need to pump, and no need to look - just grab, when you tack.

I'm intrigued by this wing and the new Cabrinha. The only thing I'm not sure about is the "lightest bladder" comment. You can see how full the camber is thru the whole wing.

Supposedly very light for a huge wing -- handles are nice. Available this month. I used the F-One 8 metre yesterday in very light winds with the Kijura 1440. Both are light wind beasts.

Yep the handles need improvement for sure,but they are doable as you get used to em,but for over 100 kgs riders you can't afford not to have one! It's saved many sessions with its diesel like low end and it performs pretty darn good for a big wing and for some reason being such a big wing for me minimal dreaded wingtip touches.
It weighs in a respectful weight for the large wing class.When F1 upgrades the handles on a V2 and cpl other modifications this will be the best big wind out hands down,which it pretty much is already
