I'm new to winging and just been out 2 times now. I feel like I don't understand how to inflate the wing correctly and it doesn't seem like an easy thing to search.

Last 2 times out I've pumped up the wing and gone out and when I'm on the water I feel like I've under inflated it. It feels like it bags out too much :shrug:

As well when I'm pumping it up I need to hold the nossle (spelling) in otherwise the force of the air pops the nossle out, which doesn't seem right.

I'm and ex windsurfer so no previous experience with bladders.

It's a 2020(?) ozone wasp 6m and I'm using a doutone pump.

You shouldn't have to hold the hose onto the valve. It should connect securely without leaking (or minimal leaking). You need to figure out whether the hose fitting is compatible with the valve on your wing. It sounds like they may not be.
as far as pressure, your wing should say the ideal pressure and you should match that on your pump pressure gauge. If your hose isn't fitting onto the valve the pressure gauge won't work properly.

I started with a brand new 6m wing. It looked & felt baggy right from the start. Really hard to pump. I sold it & got a PPC 4.8m which are tight & very good at pumping. Night & day - same power as the 6m. I've since tried a PPC 5.8 & found that to be a big wide ungainly wing. I've come to the conclusion that big sails suck.
When I was looking I was advised by more knowledgeable folk that the early ozones bagged out & to avoid them - I have no experience with them though so take that with a grain of salt- some may have had good experiences with them

Ozone use the Boston valve so you need to push/turn the adaptor in with some force otherwise it can pop out as you are experiencing. I'm not a fan of this valve or Ozone wings, the more used they are the **ier they feel. Persevere with it while learning and with any luck you'll destroy it and have to upgrade

Had several Boston valves and all pumped up though connection a little loose. I wrapped some plumber's tape around it for a tighter fit. Also twist the hose a bit so some tension keeping hose on lugs. Advantage of them is easy to clean and replace if they fail..

Cheers all, I'll have a play with the connection on the weekend and see what I can sort out. Super scrappy at the moment with the gear so hopefully can get a bit of a feel for it before upgrading.

To learn on, even a Ozone V1 will work. It will not be as stiff as stable as where the industry is, but it's not the V1 that will be the cause if you cannot learn and foil. :))))) So it's a good first wing, a bit of wingspan, but definitely find the adaptor for your wing. Maybe look into the bag of your wing, it could be in there? good luck!!

Try Simon at Board Crazy in Brisbane. I think he has adaptors too.

Check the repair kit in the Ozone bag, they come standard with the boston adaptor
