Hi All - what's your recommendations for current good options for vests with decent protection extending below the ribs and helmets? I'm a beginner but can see the need to invest in some protection sooner than later :-)

Bonus if tall folks have tried any of this stuff (i'm 6'4" and 210lbs).

I bought a Mystic wake impact vest as protection went all the way to the bottom, kite ones have no paddling around harness area. I use a protec helmet, it's only one that fits comfortable for my large head, lol.

Maybe look at Wake impact vests. They don't have the harness gap from windsurf and kite.

I have an O'Neill Slasher that I really like. Good rib protector, light and dries quickly. I'm 6'2", 190 lbs and I wear the XL over my 4/3 wetsuit.
