I purchased a 1900 Foil, but was delivered and 1600 :-(

As it was used not sure the supplier will have the 1900 to send me.

I know, typically, after learning the basics, one wants to change down in size, but I am not too keen on the frustrations of taking a long time to get up and clear of the water, especially as winter draws near and one chills quickly. on the other hand I have seen some comment stating that a big foil, when it does push out the water, tends to do so rapidly, it's hard to trim the board flat, resulting in you falling off.

So, what do you recon, stick with 1600, or get my hand on a 1900?

Depends allot on the Foil. It so happens that Takuma had a 1600 & 1900 in the older "LOL" Profoil model. If so you should be fine on the 1600. I learned on the LOL 1600 at about 78kg & it has plenty of lift... my friend is about 90kg & has no problems getting up... I felt the 1900 was unnecessary but YMMV...

I had the same experience with the same brand foils but from a dealer. I'm around 85kg and they gave me a 5.5m Cabrinha X wing. I never checked initially but other beginners on the beach had similar problems and were getting up easily on the 1900 and having problems on the 1600. I bought a 7m Mojo sail and the 1900 foil. Its better to be up and going than in the water and the 1900 is so much easier.
