I haven't tried these on the wing yet, but I was planning to. They are Water Ski Slalom gloves, and the webbing/nylon thing allows you to grip the handle with just a bit of downward pressure on your fingers, and transfers all the load up above your wrist.
There are no problems with not being able to release the handle, if you push your fingers out the bar just comes away.
I use these for Wakeboarding. I go pretty hard on the wakeboard when I get to do it, and without the gloves I wouldn't last more than 10 minutes before the handle would start getting ripped out of my hands when jumping. With the gloves I can keep going for much longer, as I only really need to grip hard during a jump.
If the weather is good this weekend I'll give them a try on the wing, but I think they would work a treat for longer sessions. I have a boom, so they would be perfect for that - I've never used a wing with handles though, so not sure if that would be any different.
