Not worried about grounding the foil?

Nice sync of the lyric " you're turning round and round" with the gybe. Bonus points. Happy Easter.

Looks fun, sure would be nice to do this without 5mm wetsuits.

Doing the follow cam thing with a gopro, you sure have to be close to make it look decent....uncomfortably close! If the front rider wipes out, felt pretty likely it'll be a full-on run-over.

Can't help myself being an old windsurfer and used to stepping off onto the dry sand and not jumping into waist deep cold water.. Lucky Naish gear is tuff..

Yes.. That's the problem with GoPro's .. Get close or don't bother.. There is a risk but I'm confident I won't run into someone who breaches in front of me.

Maybe that's why they're falling in - all that performance pressure.

Launch and recovery with only the lower legs getting wet is what I miss the most about windsurfing.

I used to let my windsurf foil ground and it ended up looking really knackered. I dare not do the same with my wing foil.

Awesome! Love the camera perspective, the action, and the Dan soundtrack. Headband mount? Looks like you stood on the board and uphauled? My gear is on order.

Yes.. being an old fart if try and kneel on my board with my wing in the air like everyone else and try and stand my knees say "no way buddy " so I need to put my hands down to assist me to stand.. So I guess it's like an uphaul type manoeuvre..

I use a bicycle helmet with my GoPro mounted on the front.. It's light.. waterproof.. and fits secure.. btw that was my first session filming with my newer GoPro 9 because the charge port door broke off my old GoPro 7 and I can see now I didn't get the angle right with the it pointing down a bit much and causing a big bend in the horizon chopping the top off my friends wings in shot..

This is my helmet set up.

Nice GoPro setup. I still have a Hero 7 but hardly touch it since getting the Max (360 deg cam). I think you'd love using the Max

Yes plus 1 on the great video & music selection
It's good to see some regular people on a variety of gear
I have been meaning to ask, since you took up foiling have you done any SUP down winders or has foiling taken over completely?

I might get one one day .. but to be honest I'm not a big fan of that huge fish eye distortion effect that those 360 deg cameras have.

Thanks.. I love the SUP downwinders but haven't done one in ages.. Due to all the lockdowns and all this covid stuff the car shuffles have gone in the too hard basket..

I still SUP with my dog on board.. Also the odd social paddle and surf.. Looking forward to getting back into downwinders when it's really honking..

I agree on the fish eye distortion, and I'm also not a fan of those whacky distorted 360 cam footage scenes. But the beauty of 360 cams is that you can easily "reframe" that massive 360 deg fisheye image down to a much smaller field of view that's about the same as a regular GoPro Hero model. So no more fisheye than a regular Hero image. You give up some resolution when you do that but you gain this amazing ability to focus in on any direction within the entire sphere that you choose. You never have to worry whether your Hero is pointed in the right direction to capture just the right angle/shot!
