I'm looking for flat-water spots around the Port River, Adelaide that get reasonably steady breezes. I've tried West Lakes, Snowden's Beach and Snapper Point (the one further north on Port River), which all have their moments, but I'm wondering whether anyone has tried any of water-ways around the south, east or north-east of Garden Island? I am mostly concerned about wind shadows and depth of water (or presence of underwater obstacles). I'm keen to tap into the experience of others and would appreciate comment from any who have tried those water-ways.
