Hi all,

Does anybody have an idea of Gong will be launching V4 foils in the near future? I'm thinking of buying a new set from them and V3 is on discount and they are usually pretty fast with bringing out new stuff. I would be bummed if right after buying the V4 is announced. I now this is probably not the best forum to ask this question about Gong, but this is the forum I find is the most 'alive' about winging. If you now a better place to ask this question I would be happy to know.

Are you sure they are on sale or were you just looking at at package with full foil plane + mast that they always give a small discount for? They seem to be having big problems keeping up with the demand as it is; my friend recently waited 2 months for his gear to arrive despite the website saying it was in stock. Customer service was apparently a disaster. Seems unlikely they will release a new series during these challenges.

You're right the discount is on the full foil package. I was hoping they would with V4 soon. But the time between V1, V2 and V3 was also not consistent. So it could be that a V4 will be far in 2026 or something...

I think the facebook group "GONG Galaxy Group" is the most active place.It is about all the Gong gear, but nowadays it is 99% about foil and wingfoil.

There are been some disorganization at Gong with a huge summer demand, and also they had to build a huge warehouse extension to regroup the contents of the eight warehouses they operated in the town.

Just keep in mind that group is heavily moderated and with a lot of team riders posting "reviews". Most things negative will be removed.

The group has rules:
- Don't over post.
- Be nice with others.
- Sell you gear discretely. (There are other groups to sell things)
- This is not a support group. (There is a dedicated support team)

They made the choice to remove all posts that are offensive on purpose (to any brand, individual, groups,...), and/or degenerate into flame wars. And err on the side of caution: in doubt, just cut out.
Knowing the nature of social networks, and especially Facebook, it is hard to blame them.
(and I have my posts removed from time to time :-) )

But this means that in practice, you wont find comparison between brands there, mostly because it would be easy to other brands to sue Gong, as in France brands cannot mention other brands. Too touchy so they prefer to just delete these discussions.

You will find feedback comparing the different Gong models, which is still quite useful given the size of the offering...

V3 foils are not on discount, only the boards. So I would expect new boards coming soon, new foils later.
