Hey there waterpeople, I eat too many doughnuts but that is not today's topic
Go Foil EZ 1275 very light, fairly small span, around 96cms if I remember, thin at the tips and has the kinked tips to stop cavitation when breaching - haven't tried breaching too much so didn't test out this benefit much yet. Good quality nice fit and finish and the amazing fit, hit and tighten one screw, good for cavemen like me
Boy this thing needs some speed to get up on foil, like some decent wind, around 15-20kts I'd say. It
doesn't want to come up on foil then it suddenly comes on like a bullet train and you have to hit the front of the board with some foot pressure or you loose it, funnily enough I found it easier to manage moving it further back in the box (when I moved it too far forward it just lifted and wanted to stall)
then when you hit the front foot pressure the foil is smooth a silk, so predictable, fastish, glides a little, not so easy to pump, turns ok, carves really nice, but buttery smooth and quick but not too fast - I really like this speed just nice feels good and vibey, the foil levels out real nice, once up it is not affected by chop but when in taxi mode it jigs all over the place if there is heavy chop
I paired the foil with the
FTS 14.5 and the
65cms mast which is tough to ride in chop as the bottom of the board catches or you end up breaching which I did about 3 times, but hey with practice I think I could find the sweet spot
for wing foiling I feel this front foil is amazing for someone who wants a simple quick but manageable foil that is totally predictable and not overly wide, great when the wind picks up totally useless in light winds - more for the groovy, laid back foiler, I've heard it surfs very well which is a bonus if you get to go that way
(and mine came with a frikin' nice cover, velcro and stuff, all excellent top notch)
cheers
