Good to see something like this coming from GF. So far the thing I find the most difficult has been to accept the given range of a foil and that some foils will 'glide' out at their stall speed and others have that nasty 'drop' when you hit the stall speed. Getting more used to my gear ride by ride. PNL185 is my fav foil at the mo'.

To go with the "new" GoFoil DW specific wings ?

I'm in Maui at the moment and while I haven't demoed the new front wings I have had a good look at them. The trailing edge is very similar to the KT and in theory has a very low stall speed. Watching Alex ride them they are also a lot faster than the 850 foil but he can also go incredibly slow without stalling out. Max Moquin prone foiling these is incredible to watch but he is using a short fuse as well so is turning on a dime. I wouldn't say these are DW specific foils but they also don't look like prone foils despite what Max is doing on them.

Does gofoil make a good mast yet to go with them? I sold all my GF a year or 2 ago with that mast back on the fuses nonsense also somehow those masts were quite flexy despite being solid carbon.

An underside shot would be good to see too. Great that GF is trying to find new ways to ride. I really like low stall speed that glides out, being able to fly off then change your speed, carve slow, gybe really slow, so if GF can improve stall speed across the range that's very good news for me

I've kept most of mine (couldn't sell it anyway)... Some of the new wings are starting to look pretty modern and the new tail also looks great. The mast though... that's in desperate need of an update. 135mm chord?!

Yeah, and the stiffness.I always assumed the gofoil mast was stiff since it was carbon all the way through.and I guess it was compared to everyone else's noodle masts 3 years ago but by todays standards it doesn't hold up, maybe the new new masts are different though some of them look different the website doesn't help!

Alex has mentioned a v3 mast in development.

I'm light so no worries about mast, what is considered the 'norm' for cord at present - I felt the difference in drag from V1 to V1.5 so if it keeps getting better we all win!

If they would only get rid of those unnecessary and draggy tips and glossy finish...

Cokiya it seems you are talking about the new wings rather than the tails. The new tails look like they will be less 'draggy' which is good. Lots of people ride the GF GT line which has a huge cord but more manageable span, these new wings are the polar opposite, tiny cord huge span - personally I would like GF to make a more 'regular' wing that is just good for Wing Foiling and then offer different sizes.

The large chord wings have less glide, I imagine the large span wings are going to be tough to turn but I havent ridden them so just my thoughts

Yes, I was talking about the front wings. The new ono tails look nice. The front wings should go the same way.

GF has it's qualities but regarding tails did they really need all this time to go from the Maliko tail to the Ono tail !

Actually these tails highlight one of the problems I have with GF. GF equipment is 'draggy' compared to the competition. (and why the Kane tails were so popular for some other foilers) Tails, fuselage, mast; and some of the fit is just 'out', tails or front foils that dont line up with the fuse. Other manufacturers have more 'efficient' water equipment (Mike's lab seems to be a winner). Weight and volume are critical in this sport, hence the popularity of the new 'light' mast. I would like to see a 'new' ultra efficient GF line. It can't be all bad though as I'm still riding it!

I don't really understand all the criticism against GoFoil, but I really only wing and have never tried other brands foils.

That being said, I have no problem keeping up or passing other wingers on the latest and greatest or gliding as long and I am still on 1.5 version mast.

The stall speed of the RS 1150 is almost 0. I use the rs 1150 a lot because the wind usually sucks on the inside when pulling out of waves, so it gives me plenty of time to get back out and into the wind.

In light air I am up and going when most are heading back to the beach or never got on foil on their latest and greatest.

I don't downwind or prone foil yet, so maybe that is where the difference can really be felt, winging I just don't see the difference from other brands.

I can tell the difference between speed and stall speed from the rs 1150 to the rs 975. The 975 has more speed and turns much quicker but the stall speed is much higher. I am ordering the new 750 hoping it combines the speed and turning of the 975 with the low stall speed of the rs 1150.

I also will be ordering the new tails.

I got to understood what DRAG feels like when I first winged with my GF RS650HA.

The absence of drag and sheer speed of the 650 compared to the rest of my quiver really gave me an understanding of what a fast/low drag foil feels like.....of course I needed plenty of wing power and I needed to keep my speed up...but WOW ! the lack of resistance was incredible, don't know if I really need to go that fast, but it is great to have the option :-)
