The price difference is very large.
Anybody knows what's the weight difference (I'm after the 75L one).

What's the advantage of the Team Edition other than being slightly lighter?

I was originally after the 5.0 team edition but my local shop only had the standard construction, I'm glad I got the standard one now as it's taken a few minor knocks and scuffs etc.
I would of thought the T.E will feel stiffer and would pump up on foil easier , but have no problems with the standard construction.

i too was considering a TE - but they seem imposs to get hold of to date (in the UK), but also ive heard from a few 3rd party sources that they are much less robust / more fragile than the standard pink ones - and i dont think these are already the worlds strongest boards so that worrries me. Also (anecdotally) that they dont feel that different on the foil?

The new ones are definitely an improvement on last years , great boards.

I like green ?.

But the main reason - I had the 95l previous version and needed more volume and buoyancy without going bigger to help standing up from kneeling.

The green 105 has about the same weight as the old 95 and now with the pulled in nose and tail feels similar size to old 95.

It's working so far.

in my local shop they weigh the same. carbon was even heavier by 20 grams

We have a current (purple-ey red) standard edition 5'2 (85L) and 5'0 (75L), both only just one and two months old.

Our 5'2 is a bit soft, particularly along the top left edge and within the first session started splitting parallel to the edge and another split forming shortly after. They are where you would place your hands to climb on and place your weight getting onto your knees. Some small one's developing on the other side but haven't grown too much yet. It sounds like it's a known issue with the 5'2. It may be worth giving one a press in this area to see if there's any flex if considering buying one.

At this stage our 5'0 is okay and nothing obvious so far. Others locally have the 5'0, using them for a while and haven't had any problems

As far as newer vs older vs green versions, I can't help sorry as these are our first boards

Having had a short ride on both the main thing i noticed was one is green and both are expensive.

In the uk the fanatic Skys wings are really well priced compared to most other brands , that's a big part of the reason why I bought one.

The splits, even when fine, have water oozing out of them when the board is placed in the warmth. Probably worth putting a patch on anything you find, no matter how small.

I ordered the 5'2 standard edition, but now I read about you reported split forming/delamination on various boards. Should I cancel my order?
Did you or someone got additional boards with the same defect.

I have a 5'4" standard with 450 miles on it. The thing is a beast, rock solid. Only issue is some wear where it rubs a Tupperware box in my truck.

Local shop stopped selling the TE because the finish is so poor and keeps getting cracks and paint chips.

Jeez mate. You reckon as one of the long term players in the market (with their technology from windsurfing construction passing over as well) that they would have these issues sorted.

Will assume this will be a warranty claim for you. Interested to see how you get this issue sorted.

My experience is most brands have construction issues particularly when over sanded during the finishing process.
I had the 95l in previous version which had a crack in the nose due to an air bubble , easy fix.
Now I have had the 105l TE for several months and foiled in 30kn a few times, no issues. I know others with crack issues and some not. It seems if all ok after a few big sessions you have a good one.

Shop has been given the okay to cut this one in half and replaced under warranty. I'm just using it till new stock etc.

There's now about 50cm worth of split on the left. Paints peeling off and bubbles. It's probably a bit heavier than normal.

Other than that, I really like it (but don't have much to compare to) and anyone who's had other boards and now owns this model seems to love it. It feels perfectly balanced where the foot straps mount and no different to windsurfing, in fact I sometimes forget I'm not

Ah...cool to hear they upheld their end of the deal. Let's all hope that it was just a Friday build board and your next one holds up.

Heard there where production (quality) issues as they had to find a new factory to produce them.

Ordered mine in october and still not available...

So I copied the shape and asked a shaper to make the board strong and light for half the price

There are so many complaints about boards from the big brands (coming out of the cobra factory for the most part I think), that I really start to think it would be more profitable to simply improve the overall quality, rather than having to ship 2 boards to 1 in 3 customers.
Money aside, thinking about the ecological impact off all this makes me sick.

Just got myself a Fanatic on the weekend. Yet to use it, so I will nervously be awaiting the outcome of a few sessions.

To be honest, it was a tough call between the Fanatic and a Sunova Casey. Given that Sunovas come out of their own factory and having previoiusly owned their boards before, I reckon you can't go past their build quality.

I only went the Fanatic as I didn't like the length of the Casey in their comparative volumes.

Currently also have a One Ocean wing board and can't knock their build quality either.

the group i ding with who own this board, even though they have a mixture of foil/mast brands, sizes and body weight, most seem to put their mast more to the front. There's just a few of us who find it better all the way at the back of the board. It will be interesting to see where you prefer to have it.

Any 5'4" 95L 2022 sky wing owners care to share there boards weight kinda shocked mine is tipping the scales at close to 16lbs pretty friggin heavy for a wing board that size,have a comparable 90L board weighs quite a bit less just wondering if I got the one off slug in the bunch sure like to see if any fellow 22 95L are coming in this heavy? Pretty nice board good for higher winds with added weight suppose but bit disappointed in its weight for example my Kalama supfoil 6'6" 139L is approx same weight

Both my 2022 Skywings were sucking in water, 1 was a rough seat area under the oring and the other board the vent was just loose.
I know they come with a big warning sticker not to touch the Goretex vent but I will check all my new boards from now on to save me the grief...

Hmmm interesting as mine was shipped to me without plug installed so was somewhat a good thing as I could verify it's tightness myself did notice a minuscule drip of resin in female threads of plug insert but appeared to me that it was not empedding threading of plug,however I take it out will dbl check for moisture inside, did have one ding I fixed on bottom from shipping mishap but don't think that took more than 20-30 grams maybe 50 tops grams of epoxy resin to fix so little perplexed of why mine is close to 1.5 lbs more than sunset sailboarding 95L should mention mine is purple standard construction not the green carbon,wondering If sunsetsailboards is standard construction @14.3 lbs,or green carbon model? Maybe that's why Fanatic never lists weight says TBT or something Lol or translation same Liter boards might vary in weight

Nope these are weights of standard Sky Wings. First TEs are arriving this week.

Mine 5'4 95l 2022 Skywing weights at 15.6lbs. Was expecting lighter to be honest. But on the otherhand atleast there should be enough resin ?? My other 85L board from other big manufacturer was 11.7lbs and lighter than manufacturer announced. But it got damage so easily that i would had preferred little more weight if it added durability.

Pitbull did you weight it with or without straps? Mine is board only.

Winger12 good to hear thought It was just mine was the slug,That's approx about where mine is 15.9 W/O straps! Pretty darn heavy for a 5'4" 95L wing board! board has some nice traits but weight is definitely not one of them,I like to use it on plus windy days where it more suitable, surprised Fanatic doesn't lighten up its standard construction a bit without sacrificing strength like some other brands was stoked on shape and rail concept initially but the weight difference compared to my other 90L is bit disappointing every time I pick it up

Heh, one of the reasons I'm considering a 2022 Sky Wing is to get a lighter board. The Tabou Magic Carpet I have is extremely heavy for its size, but I can understand it because it has a Tuttle box and a mast track for windfoiling. I just don't see myself windfoiling ever again, so a dedicated wingfoil board makes sense.

I'm 70kg, so technically the 5'0" is the recommended size for me, but I know there will be lots of times when I have to paddle or slog back to shore, so slogging comfort is a factor. I'm trying to decide between a 5'2" (85 liter) and 5'4" (95 liter).
