Have read so much on this forum about Axis, Armstrong, etc foils but little about Fanatic. I am interested in experienced foilers' first hand impressions and opinions of the Fanatic Aero High Aspect AL 3.0 foils.

I haven't ridden the 3.0 version mast but I have some experience with the Fanatic HA in 1750. The thing going in favour of the Fanatic is it is bomb proof. They're really easy to ride, lowish stall speed and moderate top speed. They're a bit heavier than some of the leading brands, but for sure, SO SOLID. Well made, easy riding and solid all rounder. Once you gain experience, you will likely be better served on a more performance oriented brand like SABfoil for not much more money.

Have seen a team rider on one of these. They're chunky a very solid. Built almost too solid? They're somewhat similar to a HPS700 then CAD scaled to size.
I'd echo the above point, they're probably expensive, so consider something that'll go a little quicker

Thanks for the two above opinions. Sort of what I am feeling. As a 'slow' learner I believe the Fanatic I have is giving me a good opportunity to learn and develop on gear that is suitable to the task. I don't mind a bit heavy to carry as weight hopefully translates to 'stability' in the water. Performance is not what I am after; durability and ease of use for learning are what I am seeking.

I've been using the Fanatic aero foils for my wing foiling journey so far and I'm very happy, although admittedly I haven't tried anything else.

I second the above poster in that the AL system (both 2.0 and 3.0) are very well build and super solid. I have the AL 2.0 HA 2000 and 1750 on 75cm mast/78 fuselage, and newly the Aero free 1250 on AL3.0 with 82cm mast and 68cm fuselage.

Switching from 1750 to 1250 cm2, and the shorter fuselage, was MUCH easier than expected, the takeoff speed is not too different, and the roll stability is very good still on the 1250, with a much better agility, glide and overall carviness.

I feel the downside of the fanatic system is maybe top speed (haven't tried the flow yet) and in general they don't offer a foil shape (yet) that screams next level (e.g. super high aspect/thin wings). However, the accessibility and solid build, in addition to the in-system compatibility (you can use all foils from 2.0 also with the 3.0 mast/fuselage and vice versa, except the old flow) makes the aero foils an attractive option.

I too have the 1750 and 1250 Aero HA foil sets on a 75cm 3.0 mast. Only used the 1250 once as I am at present enjoying the ease of the 1750 and it's lower speed (averaging about 10-11kts).

I used the HA1750, 1500 & 1250 foils. They are great stable foils that have a good combo of lift, glide, and speed. Turning is decent too. The stock setup with the 780mm fuselage is very stable. The AL system is really well designed and built. Parts fit together well, and the connections are well thought out, and the whole system sets up stiff.

As you progress you can get a shorter fuselage 680mm and there are upgrade wing sets in the Aero Free and Aero Carve.

You can also upgrade your mast and fuselage to carbon. My carbon 900mm/680mm mast and fuse paired w/ the Aero Free 100 wings weighs in at just over 8lbs. The carbon mast is very stiff.

This setup is becoming my daily driver.

One limitation of the Fanatic system is lack of stabilizer options. I hope they can address this soon, but there are also aftermarket options for these things. It's a flat mount, so should be fairly easy to get aftermarket stabs.

For some, like me, it's actually nice to not be super overwhelmed by a ton of options. Simplicity can be nice ;)

Speedwhise, I could get the HA 1750 up to 16 kts, and the free 1250 to about 18, but could be very well limited by skill and/or substantial chop.

yeah I don't need 20 tail wing options but just three is a little limiting. Might have to chop shop one.

I'm getting pretty good speed on the Free 1000... just a hair slower than my SAB W1000 if I push it... 23.3kn 10 seconds. For longer distances, the W1000 seems to be faster as it takes less input to stay level above 20kn.

I'm using chopped down 215 goes great. Makes the 1250 as fast as the 1000 is with the 216. Gives more glide and speed to the 1000 as well, just a bit more twitchy but that's how I like it ??

Why I ask is that at 72kg on the 1750, I find using the -.5? shim makes the lift smooth and easily managed as a beginner. Am I doing something wrong?

I've been on the Fanatic system from the start of my foiling. V2 at first and now the all carbon. The all carbon is just as solid and super light. Sunset gave the weights above so I won't bother. I'm above 82 kgs and the Aero 1750 starts to lift off at 4.5 mph of board speed according to my gps. Smooth take off with no shims. When the wind is up I usually go to the 1250 though.

The downside to Fanatic now is the foil choices and availability (at least in the states), but it appears to be getting better. I personally prefer low aspect foils as they require less rider input, but I know many love AR10 foils and they don't have anything like that.
