Have a couple sessions on the Aero Free 1000/216 wingset with the 90cm/680mm carbon mast fuse combo.
Feels pretty lifty for 1000cm2, and I was having some trouble keeping it down when trying to push for speed... perhaps need to tweak my mast position or get used to a liftier foil... or neg shim the tail. I'm coming from SAB W1000/W400. Speed is good... about a knot or two slower than the W1000 but harder to control on the top end. The mast is also a little shorter than I am used to, so the combination of those two factors resulted in some dramatic overfoils. I think perhaps the Aero Free 800 might have a more comparable range to the W1000. Turns were really fun... feel I can really drive the foil through the turns and accelerate and/or keep speed. Glide was good. Feels a bit like the SAB W940 but more stable and more power. No issues w/ tip breaches.
Carbon 90 mast is very stiff, and all the connections seem well thought out. M8 bolts for the fuselage to mast and front wing connections. Everything is heli-coiled.
Complaints: No slotted connection for the mast plate.... takes awhile to remove bolts fully and then screw them all the way back down especially with the foam padding between the plate and board. Will probably replace Torx fuselage to mast bolts with Allen bolts so I can use one common 5mm tool for baseplate and fuselage attachment. No issues with getting things tight enough w/ this design.
I had a lot of fun on this foil and will keep testing/tweaking and comparing to my trusty W1000.
best 10sec speed 21.2 knots
weight of complete assembled foil 3752g/8.25lbs
Yeah a knot or 2 slower but way way better on the wave

I've not had any issues over foiling but I am 90kg, used the Free 1250 few times now as well and also really good and super easy to do 360s and stuff. Riding it with 216 rear could go in 10knts with dlab 5.5. can't wait for the 800 to arrive
