How do you like the Ensis wing? And how do you like winging compared to windfoiling, as I am contemplating getting a 2nd hand Ensis score (earlier model) and winging a try.
Hi Tom,
Ensis has been great. Only the very first models (the ones without windows) had a weak handles construction (the scores and spins are already bomb proof and fine), but the whole idea of having long handles was amazing already on these early models. Allows sliding your hands in the handles to change the angle of attack of the wing, instead of riding with a bent elbow when needing to sheet in. Check out this clip, from my early days of winging.
I personally like the spin or top spin a bit more. When compared to the score it has slightly less deep profile, has a bit less grunt, gives a bit more feedback. But as a first wing the score might even be a better choice, if you need more power to get going. Anyways, can't go wrong with either of these:
Top Spin:
Score:
Definitely give it a try, the learning process is fun, and the progress comes quickly in the beginning, but somehow it still keeps giving good feelings for years to come, even if just freeriding, without doing any crazy tricks.
cheers
